So I got tired of waiting for my game to be unlocked, so I just bought it again, I'm sure Norb and company dserevs a little extra money, I also bought the antietam pack, so whats the first thing I do, I start the full army battle the 11 hour monster, but I did it with 1:1 I'm not sure this is even going to work, it started up ok, so aperantly I can play a battle with some 40 000 spries at once, but isn't the union side going to be reenforced up to 70 000, that means like 110 000 total.

I'm expecting my computer to just explode at any second, or atleast the game is going to crash.

I upgreaded my computer since last time I played the game, so I got 8 gig of ram, hopefull that will let me play a little, but I can't belvie I'll be able to play with 110 000 sprites.

8 GBs! Wow! I'd be worried that the map would look like Woodstock---just a sea of people with no space to move or even breathe. Tell us how it works out!

And post your specs too if you wouldn't mind. I'm looking to upgrade my PC in the near future, and want to use SoW at its peak as my barometer. Thanks!

Actualy the map is huge, so there is no problem there, infact so far the whole battle has taken place around bloody lane, 4/5th of the map is not even used so far, I fact I sent a corps on a huge flanking manovre using the roads around the river, came up on the flank of the rebs.

There as infact been alot of flanking, not by regiments against regimetns, but brigades against brigades and divisions against divisions. I was about to be over run on my right by 5000 rebs, when Sedgwick close by, so I sent him right against the flank attack.

So far I've lost about 5000 so has the rebs, but the battle is new, so I still have only about 30 000 out of 80 000 on the field so far. Brunsides hasn't even come into the map yet.

I havn't really be micro managing things so far, I don't move brigades around, I move divisions and let the ai take care of the rest, so far it's worked, the ai has taken sevral big flank attacks, first the enemy flanks me, then I flank them, they flank me again ect. the battle has actualy moved 180 degrees becasoe the constant large scale flanking attacks.

Right now there is a small "lull" in the fighting, the I can only see about 3 brigades of rebs, the rest are some were els on the map, but my current divisions have tanken a huge beating, I got one coprs unused, but it's still half an hour or more away from the action, and Hooker has lost 65% of his corps, some of t he other divisions have lost 80%.

Right Now I'm just tying to get rid of those 3 brigades but I don't really have any fresh divsisions to do it with. So right now my batters brigades are fighting here batterd brigades, I'm waiting for my reenforcements to come in, I knoe I got almost 2:1 advantage in total numbers, but it will take hours before I get them all on the field, so I'll have to work with what I got.

There aren't actualy that many soldiers on the screen right now, there used to be about 15 000 rebs and 15 000 feds, but 10 000 of them are dead or dying and the rest are kinda gone, I still thnik there is about 30 000 rebs some were els on the map, but right now as far as my units can see, there arn't that many in view

2.5 ghz times 4 AMD CPU
8 gig of DDR2 ram
ATI HD 4800S 512mb Times 2 3d card
1.5 TB 3.5 HD

Thats really it.

My 3d cards are like 3 and half years old now and I'm going to buy new ones. but they were top of the line 3 years ago, and are still better then some of the low end cards you can buy to day, hell mabye even mid end card, the only really bad things about the cards are that they dosn't suport DX 11, so some games won't let my use the best textures ect. Which is why I'm going to get new cards.

The ram is new, I upgreaded my OS to Windows 7 64, which let me get the full 8 gigs, before I was limted to 3 gigs, the harddrive was bought at the same times as Win 7 and the ram. So the only old parts in my computer now is the mother board, 3d cards and my dvd player.

Looking good! Thanks. My current specs aren't far from yours, albeit only 4 GBs of RAM. I'm looking forward to upping the RAM and taking it out for a test drive. B)
