question about purchase, direct download vs dvd ?
question about purchase, direct download vs dvd ?
Would like to know why the extra $30?
does the digitial copy include ability to download again in a future date?
also, does digital also provide a pdf color manual?
oh, and one insignificant question: is this game any good?
thanks!

Are you f-ing kidding???????? This is quite possibly the finest RTS game on the market, anytime, anywhere, period. The AI alone is worth the price of admission. The vast majority of us are RTS Battle-hardened and we STILL get beat by this thing. I just fought a savage Rear-Guard Action inside the Napoleonic Mod, as desperate as anything you can find - Smoke, haze, gunfire, screaming, Broken Foot and Horse streaming by in confusion and/or panic, as I sat, sword in hand, directing what was left of my (French) Division in a foot by foot withdrawl away from the advancing, cheering Austrians, working feverishly to get what was left of my Batteries limbered up and away.
Find THAT anywhere else.
Buy the game - get stuck in. You will be screwed for life.

If you chose to pay the extra thirty dollars – You will receive a CD \ Manual .Would like to know why the extra $30?
You will receive a code that you can save, once you download the game, just store it on a CD \ DVD – and use your code to activate it. There is no need to download it again.does the digital copy include ability to download again in a future date?
also, does digital also provide a pdf color manual?
All of us seem to think so!oh, and one insignificant question: is this game any good?
thanks!

as the chaps have said, try the demo.but if ,like i was your coming from a total war style of play prepare for a big shock!
the ai in this game is ferocious and if you arnt paying close attention to everything (and thats a hell of a lot!)it will hammer you spitless.
this is a 19thc battle simulator and the best game of its type ive ever seen and i have played 'em all.
i got the dl version and its fine, the disc version is more expensive because this is not a big game company with a bottomless moneypot which defrays the costs of producing such things.
but be warned this game will suck away your time and life like no other,you can spot gsow players sometimes on the street.they are the hollow eyed twitching fellows stumbeling along muttering things like;
'my left flank is broken!'or 'go on boys give em hell they wont stand!'
go on try it,you know it makes sense! cheers

Man,
In regards to the pic attached above - that was from an actual battle. Those two battalions blazed away at "whites of the Eyes" range, (some 30 yards), for over 5 minutes. Neither side gave an inch, smoke so thick they couldn't see each other at times. The combat ended when someone else charged with the Bayonet and the opponents broke off to deal with that respectively. Find that somewhere else.

*Sssshhh* it's a Bourbon regiment.
Just noticed how small and high up the French flag is and how flat/rigid it looks - is that from a more distant unit maybe?
