OK big Issue here

Ok where and how to start. This issue is very frustrating to me so please bare with me as I try to explain.

1. I got a code error that it was corrupt. I finally got it uninstalled

2. I tried to re-install it from my CD but it could not or it simply would not

3. DL the game 1.4 started it and ask for the code I could do this once it was de-activated for me but once the code was there and I did ck to see if it was activated and it was but the problem is the game would not launch and close as soon I click next. I tried running it by Admin and no luck there. Dave had asked for my activation log but I do not have such log only the html.

NOw I am really frustrated I have remoteclient to take a look as to why? personally i just dont know what to do please advice

If you cannot install from the CD, there are more issues with your computer than this game. The installer is a very basic program and should run on any windows xp,vista,7 that's out there.

Yes, like Norb said, a failed install is not the game, but something that is going on with your machine. Sometimes virus scanners can cause issues, so it's best to disable your virus scanner or add an exception in it for the game. If you have tried to activate online, you will have an activate.log in your Work folder.

the activate log is not there but the game is indeed activated.

Ok so are you still having problems? What error do you get when you start the game?

Ok I spent some time this AM what I did was disable all security on my system did without trying to find out which 1 in hopes of masking it easier. I was then to upload from the CD good news there then proceeded with the patches had an issue with 1.3 my windows did not like it and advised me not to install but I did so anyways, but before all of that I chose to see if my code would work this time and it did and it told me that it did. after all of that I DL the 1.4 the avast although disable it did not like the sowgb.exe Thats a first so I wished it had sd earlier. But I am now trying to get avast support to see if I can put it into my exclusions because Avast does not recognize that exe at this time go figure!!but I did play the game so I am not in business once again Im sry if I have been a pain in the ole rear but it so much harder to day to comprehend because on my stroke some years back.

I use Avast and had no issues at all.

I´ll be alert with the antivirus in case...

Glad your back up I have AVAST and don't do anything with it I just let AVAST do what it wants I installed it to the default and did all the defaults it installs OH you know what maybe it did ask me a question and tried to run the game in sandbox mode ok if it asks that just choose NORMAL MODE and Check the Box Run in Normal Mode all the time thats all you have to do no need to call it remembers the .exe file and leaves it alone. There is a silent gaming mode forget all that too whatever I play nothing ever pops up.

Here are some AVAST suggestions.

Double Click on the AVAST icon on the taskbar to open up avast or some other way open up avast. Ok now
Click on ADDITIONAL PROTECTION (at the left side) Then click on AUTO SANDBOX and you should see the graphic below

OK now click on the SETTINGS tab located to the right

Now you will see something like this graphic below

Ok make sure autosandbox is highlighted and the window here reads autosandbox it probably will cause you clicked on the Settings tab and so you should see something exactly like this above graphic

Ok so now this is important make sure ENABLE auto sandbox is checked just like this graphic THEN make sure it reads ASK see the drop down menu make sure it reads ASK .. as shown in this graphic.

Ok when that is done just click OK to close all this out and keep clicking ok to get out of AVAST and you are all set you could maybe fool with ADD but screw all that what will happen now is that
ANYTIME a new or suspicious program (not all programs) only .. well mostly game for me .. anytime one of these starts then it will go into autosand box mode and ask you what to do

This is important when it does this assuming it is say Gettysburg then choose OPEN NORMALY AND make sure a the box is checked that says something like "do this each time this program is run"

What happens now is AVAST "ignores" this program say Gettysburg and always allows it to open normally and does not bother you about it.

Hope this helps sorry to do it step by step but I wanted to make sure you got it cause it makes things easier also it took me 15 minutes to find the quote button on these forums when I read that their is one.
