Sand box is quite a common term amongst wargamers/board gamers. I like it and voted for when it was suggested. At the end of the day whatever you call it it does the same thing which is the important bit.

OK, the only time i remember playing in a sandbox was in the public park. I musta been 4 or 6 yrs. old. I remember digging a deep hole to find the bottom.
Low and behold i unearthed a dead stinking rotting cat! :woohoo:
That was the last time i ever remember playing 'sandbox'. :ohmy:
