Re: The next Expansion
Wishful thinking says its Gaines' Mill or Seven Pines. Logical thinking says its Chickamunga (the trees), and if the trees were denser, I could see Chancellorsville or the Wilderness.
So the only battles that rules out are Gettysburg and Antietam!

With the fires, it must be the Wilderness.
You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Re: The next Expansion
Did anywhere else have woodland fires during/after the battle?

Re: The next Expansion
Others did yes. Chickamuanga did, but the Wilderness became known for the many fires that broke out during that battle. If it is Wilderness that is ok with me. I just hope they include Spotslvania with it.

Re: The next Expansion
Pretty much any battle that predominantly took place in woods had fires break out. Chickamunga, one of the Atlanta Campaign battles, Chancellorsville, Wilderness...

The battle of the Wilderness:
Part of the AOP camped out on the old Chancellorsville battlefield and many of the graves were dug too shallow and they could see the bones of many of the fallen. The veterans of the AOP told the new guys that those bones are what they were going to become the next day.

Re: The next Expansion
You Armchair Generals haven't figured it out yet. I think Little Powell and J C Edwards will be taking the company jet and hand delivering a free copy to whoever guesses the battle correctly. I will get Little Powell to post another pic tomorrow or the next day.
(disclaimer: we don't have a company jet...yet)

Re: The next Expansion
I see breastworks in one of the pictures. I am going to go with a Western Theater battle, or possibly even Cold Harbor.
Re: The next Expansion
My gut says The Wilderness. It would be a great change of pace as most ACW computer games tend to focus on the pre-1864 battles. I would love to see it as a true campagn model though. Yet, since it's being released as an expansion, it may require too much coding. I'm sure it come to fruition eventually.

Sorry. I suffer from a serious case of typosis. Don't worry, it's not contagious
