Gettysburg 3Days Carryover Not loading second day

Post by Jsthuntn »

First post ever. To start, I have played a lot of Civil War games and I have to say this is the best Civil War Simulation ever! Flat Awesome! My feet are wet with the game but I'm drowning on the field. I like to play it from the HITS standpoint and continue to get thoroughly whipped time and again. I have good days and bad days, and each are as satisfying as the other. OK to my question. I'm doing something wrong for sure...(Considering the subject line) After I finish day 1 I'm still told I have to complete it before I can open day two. I could have swore I seen a post that addressed this somewhere but can't locate it now... Any help would be great. Thanks again for an awesome game and more importantly the fantastic support the developers and this forum provides.

Welcome Sir! You're opening line does our publicity well.

Regarding the scenario, you must achieve a minimum score of 5000 to move to Day 2. I think that's your question.

Welcome to the forum. If you are playing the historic scenarios via HITS, some of them are very difficult to win with a major victory. The points required were taken from games played at the normal difficulty setting which is far easier than what you are doing. If you want to play the scenarios and not worry about point totals, download the SDK and play the scenarios as a mod. To do that just create a sub folder in your \Mods folder with a name such as \HistoricScenarios. Now place the \Scenarios folder from the SDK into the folder you just created.

Now go to the Modifications screen of the game and click twice on the name of the mod you just made. A yellow square will appear to the left of the name. Click the check mark at the bottom. Then go to the Single Player screen and select User Scenarios. There you will see all the historic scenarios. You can select any one you wish in any order you choose. Good luck.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

MTG: I believe the Scenario in question is a mod, the 3Days in 7Hours, or something to that extent, where you need a certain grade to continue on.

Good news. I wasn’t doing anything wrong other than not whipping the enemy. 5000 points is tough from HITS. The perspective HITS gives is incredible. I'll try it on normal to see how I fair. I've studied the War since I've been 8 years old. I have paid particular attention to several battles, Gettysburg of course being one of them. I have played the day 1 scenario on several occasions just to play it. I get a little better at moving the troops and not micro-managing the field each time too. I have tried several different tactics and the last time I played I decided not to bring on the general engagement that Lee originally feared. I think at the end of the day the casualty rate was about equal 2800 union 2300 confederate. I chose to secure the ground I needed and then maneuver the two corps I had so as to properly coordinate an attack early on the second day. By choosing to maneuver to avoid a general engagement I can assume that the Union army withdrew and left the field to me:) Meaning, it’s high time I visit their line on pipe creek:pinch: Thank you for the reply and your effort in creating the game and mods you have. The game is tremendous and the Mods (DRF especially) only enhances the package.
