Graphics Skewed
Graphics Skewed
Anyone have this problem with their graphics (see attached screenshots)? I installed the demo on a new HD and it works ok until the second or third time I start the game and the graphics are skewed. I uninstall and re-install to a new directory with the same result after a few tries.

Re: Graphics Skewed
Is your video card on-board (motherboard) or dedicated?
Re: Graphics Skewed
Dedicated. It is the same card I have used playing SOWGB for the last couple of years without fail. When I install the game fresh it works as it should until I exit and start it again.

Re: Graphics Skewed
Try switching from full screen to windowed, and try it again.
Rename your sowgb.ini file, and start the game again, and see if that makes any difference. Also change resolutions as well.
Like Jack said maybe your drivers need updating.
Crazy thing is, that is exactly what I would get when playing the Combat Mission series until I downloaded the .bmp ATI fix.
Looks very similar.

Tried this first. No go.

Renaming the .ini file and changing resolutions has no effect.

I went to the NVidia website and it said I had the current drivers but I downloaded and re-installed them anyway. Still does not work.
I actually have Combat Mission but not installed on my new HD. I will have to see if there are any problems when I try to run it.
**I installed Combat Mission: Normandy and the graphics on that game are perfect**

Re: Graphics Skewed
I don't own a NVIDIA Video card, mine is an ATI.
I'm just grasping here, but what does it say in your SOWgb.ini file about the AntiA, and Anso settings?
Look in your .ini file for...
[Initialization]
Full Screen=1
Screen Res=14
AntiA=0
Anso=0
Also, in your Video card settings, are you able to turn these settings off? If so do that, and see what happens.
There could also be some command line parameters you can enter, but I'm not all that sure if NSD has implemented this option or not.

"I put the game in Windows XP compatibility mode and so far has worked again. Not sure if it will stay, but keeping my fingers crossed."
Hopefully this will help you.

Re: Graphics Skewed
I had exactly the same problem. The missing text also was there the second or third time I ran the game.
Try this:
On your shortcut to the game:
right click, select "properties"
select "Compatibility"
select "run this program in compatibility mode for:"
Then select
"Windows XP (service pack 3)"
That fixed it for me. It's a one-time change.

Re: Graphics Skewed
Dumb question, have you rebooted?
