I am an enthusiast but by no means an authority on historical accuracy so i could be wrong on anything i do. I normally do alot of research into OOBs mostly from reading material online and some books i have. Plate books are good for references on uniforms, sometimes you do find the odd descrepency.

Indeed the 91st (Argyllshire) were the only kilted regiment at Vimeiro and they lost there kilts shortly after, this is adigital version of the book i have but this was my source on that HERE.

The 71st were the highland light infantry. I did a sprite for them in the other game as they apppeard at Waterloo, this waas not my original source but they did look like this HERE. That sprite was pretty poor thoough, and i havent done another for this game.... yet ;)

I don't know if extra opinions count but I'd say Jack O'Neill was corect throughout this discussion, both regarding the uniform of the 71st HLI and the 91st/93rd.

Regiments that wore highland uniform and saw service in the Peninsular:

42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot (post-Napoleonic wars The Black Watch)
74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot
75th (Highland) Regiment of Foot
79th (Cameron Highlanders) Regiment of Foot
91st Regiment of Foot (post-Napoleonic wars the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders)
92nd Regiment of Foot (post-Napoleonic wars the Gordon Highlanders)

The 42nd sent the 1st and 2nd battalions, the 2nd of which was later disbanded, presumably to keep the 1st up to strength, all the others a single battalion.

That is all.

List of British Army Regts that saw service in the Peninsular 1808-1814:

P.S. I like the list of foreign units on that page. Seeing 1 or 2 of those in the game would be great.

Your opinions are always greatly valued and your posts always immensely readable. Just my bad luck I misread one website and then chose another that gave me erroneous information. I genuinely thought an error had occurred. I should have known better than to second guess Gunship.

I was mainly listing the highland dress regts so as to suggest that its okay to have one in the mod! There's 6 to choose from ;)

For TC2M i did several highlander sprites. Im only doing one at the moment for this game due to the time required to make the sprite sheets.

Here is a list of units i think are missing on the British/Portuguese side that need to be represented:
Highland light infantry (normal)
Highland light infantry (kilts)
Regular Infantry with buff leather
Light infantry with buff leather
Brunswick Oels
Dragoons
Dragoon Guards
Howitzer cannon
Portuguese cavalry
Portuguese artillery

Tank,

Understood.

Gun,

Don't we already have Portuguese Cavalry?

Jack B)

And, of course, I remember this stuff AFTER I post - I think we need to address the "Exhaustion" issue with the Peninsular Troops of both sides. I find it difficult to believe professional troops would be tired out after marching a mile and a half (normal size map - generally Kansas). Cavalry is almost useless right away. Did something happen that I missed in the movement/fatigue rates from the Original Nap Mod to this one? (Of course, Gunship has probably explained this in a previous post, which I'm too lazy to find.) Thoughts?

You can make some adjustments to fatigue in statetables.csv.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Highland light infantry (normal) - great!
Highland light infantry (kilts) - er... no such unit existed? Or do you just mean the light coys of th eline btns? If so, cool.
Regular Infantry with buff leather ) what is buff
Light infantry with buff leather ) leather, please?
Brunswick Oels
Dragoons ) surely these are very similar, so I'd go with just one.
Dragoon Guards ) Have you got hussars and lt dragoons already?
Howitzer cannon
Portuguese cavalry
Portuguese artillery

I'd like to ask for a second style of Spanish infantry at some stage; perhaps a grenadier? Or just a different musketer uniform.
