Re: Bugles and Flags v10
What Reb really needs to work on is adding more buttons to that toolbar. Look at all that gray space! Why the austerity?

I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Dear RebBugler,
I cannot thank you enough for the kindness and favor you have done for me. This is very near and dear to my heart. I have done so much research on the 4th Mississippi, a roster of all members is being done, and of course my research of my ancestor who served in the unit. To have the flag in the game, and to "play" a scenario with this unit will be pretty incredible.
Honestly, I don't know how to thank you enough or properly. Simply clicking the "Thank You" tab feels no where near enough. Thank you kindly and sincerely, sir.
James

And, many of the buttons are split for double functions. What Reb really needs to work on is adding more buttons to that toolbar. Look at all that gray space! Why the austerity?

Keyboards are for texting, toolbars are for arsenals, who wants a puny arsenal?

Re: Bugles and Flags v10
Thank me with that scenario, and many more. We need more scenario designers around here. For me scenarios are the best part of a game. Whether historic or what if, they tell a story, present a plot, are an adventure, a challenge, and a reward of gratification when conquered, or solved. Scenarios are the soul of the game, it's reason for being.Dear RebBugler,

Dear RebBugler,Hey 4thMiss, DL the SDK, thread link below. I think it has all the stock scenarios included. You can rename them and copy them to the B&F Scenarios folder, then find them in User Scenarios to play with mods.
http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/modifi ... dk-14-beta
Just reporting to you that this worked fine with the 1.4 patch, but will not work any longer for the 1.5 patch. I don't know how much it matters to others, but I just wanted to let you know it crashes now (the copied and renamed scenario). Everything else works fine on my 1.5.
Best wishes to you.

This is odd, very odd. Could you attach one of your renamed scenarios that has crashed and let me test it.Dear RebBugler,Hey 4thMiss, DL the SDK, thread link below. Hi RebBugler,
I've been a way for a bit working on my 4th Mississippi History book that I'm writing. The only problem I had was from the one that I had copied from the SDK as you taught me. It played well with your mods until the patch. I want to say, however, every thing but that copied scenario works absolutely fine with the patch.
I will definitely get you that file.
Best wishes to you as always and thanks!

Re: Bugles and Flags v10
Three new additions to the toolbar that for me prove right handy:
Infantry Brigade commands
1) Column of Regiments in Line AtReady - New formation that sets up :
2) Column of Regiments in Line Hold Formation - Previous formation, different function as 'attackmarch' is applied
It's the same button split. First, TC and position commander, then: Select #1, wait for set up and then move same formation until first line engages, then select #2. First line and commander will stay in position as the ranks behind move through and to the front setting up in reverse order. This provides for a fresh firing line every 10 seconds or so as the column of lines progresses forward. This has proved very effective in punching through enemy lines. Make sure your flanks are covered though, as this is it's weakness.
Artillery Brigade command
3) Force Move - New command, new button (for best results TC commander first)
This command is very effective in getting artillery to move out of engaged fire, especially when they are most difficult to move while losing troops and insist on defending themselves. It initiates a 'no orders' and 'attackmarch' command simultaneously so they immediately limber up and move to your selected location and formation. To follow up, use the run command once they are limbered to get them out of harms way faster. Thanks to MTG for relaying this great command that he uses with his HITS and Couriers Mod.
Once unzipped there will be two files, gui and drills. Copy these to the Logistics folder, overwrite previous files. To retain previous files just in case, rename them to prevent them from being overwritten.

Re: Bugles and Flags v10
Dear RebBugler, et. al.,
I did not know where to post this, but as you are the master of all things flags it seemed I should post it here. If I come off as spamming your thread or anything I apologize in advance and please delete. If nothing else it will bounce up one of the 3 mods that are my favorites (Flags, Blood, and Davinci's Confederate Uniform Mod).
I have been working on new scenarios as you suggested I should do to show thanks for your 4th Mississippi Infantry flag. While still waiting for the western maps to be released I have made preps with the other stuff. I have nearly finished the Confederate side of the OOB at the very beginning of the Atlanta campaign. I am thinking this campaign will allow many scenario's for everyone. I have done a LOT of research and even have the correct artillery armamment for all Alabama units, as well as Guibor's Missouri Battery. (I'm working on the other's).
Anyway, I KNOW you are and THANK you for being busy with important mods that hold a great deal more importance, but if, in the future, you do a Confederate Army of Tennessee May 1864 flag mod I am attaching a few flags that may help.
The first flag is Guibor's Missouri Battery Flag which was armed with 4 12lb Napoleon's.
The second was Lumsden's Alabama Battery Flag which was also, armed with 4 12lb Napoleon's at this time.
The third is Robertson's (Dent's) Artillery Battery which was armed with 2 6lb Napoleon's and 2 12lb Napoleon's at this time. Reb, et al, please know I offer this for possible future help and IN NO WAY am asking for this to be done unless you want to WHENEVER you want to. I mean this for informational purpose.
If you want me to move or delete this please let me know.
Respectfully,
James
