@NSD: Deactivation Required?

Do I need to deactivate SOW before installing the patch so that it takes the game offline from the activation server?

Don't install it unless you only have Gettysburg. It removes Antietam and Pipe Creek and their scenarios.

Don't install it. It removes Antietam and Pipe Creek and adds nothing new.
I only deactivated the game, then installed the 1.5 patch with no problems. I entered in my serial code, and the patch installed. I no longer have to connect to the activate server... BIG relief, and I am very thankful for.

Michael - this patch may be wrong. Really best to not install it until we know more.
HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.

Hmmmm, that's a bit too late, already installed. :(

Thanks for the concern saddletank. So far everything seems to be working fine. It also appears that I am getting better frame rates as well for some odd reason.

It would be a big cockup if Matrix released a patch before it was fully tested.

I did find it odd though that the patch wasn't released here. Even though I downloaded it from Matrix, I had a bit of a go to install it (should I or shouldn't I) because if NSD doesn't release it here, then it really shouldn't be installed until we get the okay. But I'm not built that way, If I see something shiny, or come across a red button that has a sign posted saying "DO NO TOUCH", you can win big money on betting I'll push that red button.

Thanks again saddletank.

We tested it with all the map packs installed. During the installation it asked for the codes for the map packs. We entered all the codes and it worked fine.

I have the code for the Main game safely written down. But I don't have the codes for the Map Packs ..... the e-mails containing them were lost in a computer crash a couple of months ago. Never thought they would be needed again once incorporated in the main game.

Does this mean I have now lost Antietam and Pipe Creek for which I paid good money ? Or can NSD retrieve them for me from their copy of the e-mail if I provide the my e-mail address in use at the time.

Thanks General,

Actually I subsequently noticed that this very problem was covered in a later post under a different thread.

Was just about to correct my post, when our wonderful Zimbabwe power went .... PHUTTTT. By the time I had got the generator working and connected, you had given me the answer again. Thanks for your promptness.

I think it proves we need to read all of the latest posts before replying to an earlier one.

I guess it will take me a week or so to get my 74 year old brain round this new set-up.
