Released - Desaturated Terrain for Gettysburg, Antietam and Pipe Creek
Re: Released - Desaturated Terrain for Gettysburg, Antietam and Pipe Creek
I think that you have found a way of seeing the battle through General Burnside's eyes!

Blaugrana - great. Hope that's solved it. Let's see a nice screenie of a scenario in action with the new terrain.
D - heh. Pinkerton must have over reported those terrain numbers again.

Yes, I tried the mod out yesterday, and everything seemed to work as planned.

D - Not noticed that before. Yeah, I suppose I've been less active here than I was on TCM.

Nah , I think that you have been very active, multiple maps, and mods.D - Not noticed that before. Yeah, I suppose I've been less active here than I was on TCM.
I agree that the previous games-modding-section was more active than this one, but I think that's due to the fact that most of the top-modders were picked to join the NSD-Team . So that sort of left a void in the modding section.
Now that's sort of.....great for the game, not so great for the modding!

Re: Released - Desaturated Terrain for Gettysburg, Antietam and Pipe Creek
Hope this isn't a crazy question but... I have the desaturated trees downloaded and installed and the yellow box but I am not sure what improvement I am looking for with this mod. I've tried the same map with and without mod. Can someone point out to me something to look for. Thank you very much

WHOA!! FAR-OUT!!! :woohoo:I've got it working beautifully as a mod in sandbox (and sorry, yep I had disactivated other terrain mod first).
I've just tried replacing the stock files again. This time I disactivated all mods before trying a scenario, just in case.
I got the same hallucinogenic results: Not sure why, but again, this is not a problem for me as I play almost exclusively sandbox. This may be something specific to my set-up, so just posting FYI.

I'm now over my tangerine trees and marmalade skies period and have some lovely muted trees instead.
I've just played the GBB scenario with this mod as well and had a great time. As usual, playing HITS & Couriers and resisting the temptation to toggle the trees off, I couldn't see a thing in the wood. No idea where the Rebs were or in what numbers. My men were standing up very well when I received an order to carry out a fighting retreat and then, through the trees, came hordes of rebels.
I managed to pull my regiments out and after a worrying few minutes began marching them back towards the Seminary, to re-form. I ended up the regulation time with a victory & went straight back to the battle.
Thanks again to all for the great terrain mod and to LP for the bonus scenarios. Fantastic!

@Blaugrana - Nice screenshots!
Those black-hat boys were probably a sight to see back in the day!
I always leave the trees on during the fighting in the woods, it seems to add too the confusion of not seeing what needs to be seen.
Crikey - did an excellent job on those trees.

Dgard20 - thanks for trying the mod. It introduces desaturated vegetation and some new trees made by various modders. Try a sandbox game to see the mod in action. Basically, the trees should be less brightly hued.
Blaugrana - nice shots. Glad you're enjoying.
