Gettysburg reinstall not working
I bought then downloaded the Chancellorsville expansion from Matrix and installed in a separate directory from the Gettysburg 1.4 install on my system for the reason that I thought it was the full version, which it wasn't. After trying to move files around to get it to work I screwed up my Gettysburg install with all the add-ons, Pipe Creek and Antietam. Now nothing works. I removed the old version from my system, redownloaded and installed the 1.5 version of Gettysburg, added my old activation key and it fails to start with the message that it stopped responding.
Here is my SOWGB.log:
Game Launched
21:10:05 Version:SOWGB
1.5001
21:10:07 Texture file not found NAME:ScreenSprite at PATH: FILE:SPLASH_NSD_LOGO.DDS
It appears that something is missing. I have downloaded and installed SOWGB from Matrix twice with the same results. How can I get my game working on my Win 7 64b system?

Re: Gettysburg reinstall not working
Also, Is there anyway to redownload Pipe Creek and Antietam without repurchasing?

Re: Gettysburg reinstall not working
If you register on the Matrix site you can download them there. There is no cost and only requires your reg codes.

I think your problem is you just installed the patch not the full game. You either need to register on the Matrix site and download the game there, in which case you won't need the patch, or install the SOW 1.4 version and install the 1.5 patch.redownloaded and installed the 1.5 version of Gettysburg, added my old activation key and it fails to start with the message that it stopped responding.

Re: Gettysburg reinstall not working
I went through the exact same thing this weekend. Here's what finally worked for me.
1. Go to the Matrix Games site and register your Gettysburg game using the Norbsoft key. It worked fine for me.
2. Go to the Members' Section at Matrix and download the full version of the Gettysburg game. It includes the latest patch.
3. Install Gettysburg.
4. Install Chancellorsville.

Re: Gettysburg reinstall not working
I went to the Matrix website logged into the member area registered all of my games and downloaded the full install - SOW-Gettysburg-SetupRelease-v150.exe
Now when I try to run this program to install version 1.5 I get a popup stating -
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
I have a Win 7 64bit system. I have tried every compatibility mode to get this to run with no success. Maybe there is a problem with Matrix's installer program, I don't know. Is it a 16 bit application? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am sure SOWGB will run fine if I could get the installer to work. Version 1.4 ran with no problems on my system.

G,
I've never seen that. I have a 64-bit system as do tons of other people and I've never had a problem. I might download it again and see if you get the same error.

Re: Gettysburg reinstall not working
Finally got it to work. I found an old copy of the version 1.4 installer and installed the game. Ignored the Activation part by hitting cancel, then resign after the game started. Installed the 1.5 patch from Matrix and entered my activation key when prompted. Haven't played a game on the new version yet, but it launches. Now need to get my addons installed then all will be back like it was. Also, the patch will only install on the C: drive so had to install version 1.4 on the C: drive.
Not sure why the version 1.5 full install launcher wouldn't work. I put in a trouble ticket at Matrix for that.

Thanks. It's tough when we've been running things ourselves for so long to give up installer creation to someone else. So the more information you can give them the better. We really appreciate it.
