Just finished reading this 4 part series. It's excellent. A little mushy, but really great wrap up. Actually pretty good morals too if that is something you look for. I have no problem letting my 11 year old daughter read it. It's an easy read, nothing too complicated. But I must admit that during reading the last book, I couldn't put it down. I was that committed to the characters and seeing how things turned out.

Oh God please don't this forum be over-run by that book! Having never read the book I cannot say too much information, but being a sophomore at high school, you hear about it a lot, and because of the fact that I got dragged to the movie by my girlfriend.

I never heard about it until a little while ago when the movie came out. Then a relative gave us their books and we read them. Is it really that big in high school? My kids aren't that age yet, so I don't know. How was the movie? Any good? The last book is the best, the first can get pretty mushy. It was definately written towards the high school girl. But being a sci/fi fantasy reader, I did enjoy her interpretation of the age old vampire/werewolf mythos.

I actually try to read almost everything my daughter reads, and in turn, she reads books that I recommend. We are not always on the same page, but she does have an open mind about trying new things. She's reading LOTR and my favorite fantasy series by Raymond Feist. I'm reading the classics to my 6 years old son. Abridged versions. We did 20k under the sea, moby dick, and now we're on treasure island. Only my middle daughter (10) still prefers books with pictures

Our kidlet Haley and her best friend down the street are both really into this. They have all the books and went to the movie (said it was great) and are excited about the next one.

It seems to be a positive thing as Norb mentioned; rather non macabre.

AC.......I have no sympathy for you. I learned at a slightly earlier age than you that you do not EVER let the girlfriend pick the movie!

Oh yeah norb,

It's HUGE in high school. I see copies of it everywhere all the time! It seems the girls are more into it than the guys but I do see quite a few guys reading it too. Guaranteed in any given class on any given day you will find copies of it on a desk or being read somewhere around the room.

Well JC this is the same girlfriend who let me use her own laptop when my own desktop crashed for TC2M, so she can pick the movie anytime.
