Prairie Grove - Released

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

This is really great to me. For one, because I had long been looking forward to it and Reb's work, too. But secondly, because I will never load this map without thinking especially of John.

Thanks to all, you really can't be part of this group here without truly liking the fellow members!
Thanks for the kind words. Was concerned about your absence, you disappeared about the same time as John, had a crazy feeling that John was using an alias...as you. Welcome back, hope life wasn't too harsh on ya...looking forward to those promised OOBs. :)
I'm back to working on the portrait packs for them. They change considerably over the entire campaign. I won't let you down Reb!

Hi Reb Bugler,

I suppose I really ought to like trees considering this is where I live !!

This is a wonderful piece of work - trully outstanding.
Great reminder of the good old days as we we worked on Prairie Grove Colors together...that mod is still getting attention over there in TC2M Land. :)
Yep RB, I enjoyed that - and it's nice to hear its still on the TC2M playlist!

Regarding SOW, I don't think the original low res strato (sky) textures look right - but it could be me.

Anyway, I have played around with some maps, so here's one for Prairie Grove, with all due respect.

Jolly if you can post any higher res skies (just the dds file) that you make, I can use them in my future random maps. I didn't know higher res skies were possible, that's cool.

Don't mind me asking, but how did you get the sky in? Or is that something that is moddable in the maps and I'm just learning about it.. :)

With libedit you can change the sky dds file in an lsl. Everything else gets mangled with stuff (checksums I guess) from lstudio and changing it via libedit crashes the game.

Wow Jolly, you always blow our socks off. John would be proud, he constantly acknowledged how much your work influenced his designs...you were well respected. So, none of this "with all due respect" stuff, it's not necessary...John would say...Mod away my friend.

@Jolly, excellent screen-shot!

Also - in the Map Folder - there is a ini file.

I think that you can also edit these settings to change the sky effects.

Example:

;Fog
FogEnable=1
FogR=101
FogG=101
FogB=106
FogNear=-2500
FogFar=72000

;Sky
;SkyCubeR=192
;SkyCubeG=192
;SkyCubeB=192
;SkyCubeR=45
;SkyCubeG=45
;SkyCubeB=45
SkyAlpha=255
SkyPlaneR=96
SkyPlaneG=96
SkyPlaneB=96
SkyPlaneHeight=500

Thanks for the words on that RB. It's John's legacy.

For Sandbox MP play, please add the following SB OOB to the OOBs folder:
