Multiplayer problem
Multiplayer problem
My wife wants to play so I set SOW up on her laptop. Runs just fine in single player. So we go for the multiplayer with me on my laptop. All goes well for the setup and connection until the end and she crashes out of the setup. Maybe I'm doing something wrong on setup but if so I'm missing it.
I'm on Win8 (game runs great after setting Win7 compatibility). I host and we're going direct IP connect.
She's on Win7 and all connections look good and she can select her general.
Loading looks good until the waiting for soldiers message then she crashes out of the game.
In the log I get this part near the bottom that may help:
09:00:00 PRESS SPACE BAR TO BEGIN
09:00:00 SOWGB Level Loaded...
09:00:00 10:23:40
09:00:00 Waiting for all soldiers to arrive on the field.

Re: Multiplayer problem
Do you have any mods installed on either computer, and if so have you tried turning them off?
Re: Multiplayer problem
In multiplayer, two computers in the same game cannot have the same registration code. This is a security measure. This feature has always been in place but may be more exposed under the Matrix registration code system.

Re: Multiplayer problem
Ah ha, it is the code problem then. Since it's just a test if I install a demo instead will it play then?

Re: Multiplayer problem
Yes, both computers would have to be running the demo to work with MP.
Re: Multiplayer problem
That's a bit much for a test. Another thought, if we had a 2nd license would we need a 2nd for each of the add ons too? Pipe Creek, Antietem

Re: Multiplayer problem
Yes. Although we did away with DRM, there are still reg code checks during MP etc.. Every product installed must have its own serial key.
Re: Multiplayer problem
i'm having the same Win 8 problem, over and over again...and none of us are using the same reg code?
Re: Multiplayer problem
Your problem is unrelated to Jeff's problem from this thread.i'm having the same Win 8 problem, over and over again...and none of us are using the same reg code?

Re: Multiplayer problem
yeah...sounds like he was running same game on 2 diff pcs...
