Bugles & Flags XIX

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Reb, I activated XI without deactivating X. Is that OK or should I deactivate X or even delete it?

IMPORTANT - What has happened to the commander portraits? I'm at work or I would post a picture of Longstreet from the "Longstreet Arrives" scenario that you wouldn't believe. I looks more like Charles Manson. Are random portraits being used now? Most of the time no picture appears even for fairly well know generals like McClaws Barksdale etc. This is happening with DRF. I was testing for this this morning and didn't get to them all but I can say it appears that the only scenarios that show the accurate portraits are the original Gettysburg ones. I played the Hood scenario from Antietam this morning and even his picture did not show. I'm sure it has something to do with how I have Mods activated. Any ideas?

At least deactivate v10, it will definitely conflict with some features.

Regarding the portrait problem, it's obviously a mod conflict. Position B&F low in the modifications order, see if that fixes the problem. Make sure Prairie Grove is deactivated when you're not using it, it has a completely different set of portraits that will conflict with everything. B&F works with Prairie Grove, just keep it above PG in this case.

For sure, mod priority number is very important for mods to work as designed.

Thanks for the report.

For best results, please delete or omit any versions of HD_ANV_1863 as they were upgraded and included with the latest update, B&F version XI. Also, use the Turbo or Turbo HD versions only if you want to downsize the flag display for FPS advantages, otherwise, disable these when using B&F XI.

Apologies for not noting this sooner, just read a bug report and it gathered my attention to this potential issue of flags being cancelled out by some of my flags-only releases.

Flag graphics are jumbled in XI. I'm running version 1.6 with all other mods disabled and resolution at 1024 x 768. 1.6 installed before XI. Any ideas?

This has been released for almost a month now and no such reports to date, so I'm miffed. Please attach your SOWGB.log file after playing, and also a screenshot would be helpful to diagnose this issue you're having. Thanks for the Report Sir.

Can't seem to attach the files. The screenshot is a 149K jpg. I click in the reply attachments empty block, highlight the jpg file, click open in the window, and nothing appears in the attachment empty block. Same story for the log file. Guess I'm doing something wrong when trying to attach the screenshot and log file to this reply.

None of Us that are using the FireFox can attach anything, so We use Internet Explorer to attach items here.

Wow, haven't seen this before. For some reason the HD flags are not scaling down. They are built double size and then scaled down in the gfx file. Since all mods are disabled I'm just not sure. My first thoughts are that your graphics card is not handling the larger texture sheets--4096x4096. Your resolution is fine, that's what I use.

Couple of questions, is this a scenario or sandbox? And, what graphics card are you using, also some specs please? Maybe someone is running a similar card, least we can narrow things down.

In the meantime I'll try to replicate it, thanks for the report.
