Version 1.6 Courier Bug
Re: Version 1.6 Courier Bug
Thanks, we'll look into it.
Last nights game was a Nap mod game, right? Does it appear in games with unmodded OOB's?

Re: Version 1.6 Courier Bug
Oooh, I missed this topic. The first instance was at the start of the game. I was a division commander and sent a message to a brigade commander, a human. No courier was spawned. Five seconds later, I received the message. The brigadier did not. I subsequently sent a number of other messages to the brigadier over the course of the battle without any problems. Another player also had this same problem. Only in his case, several messages were returned to him. I have never seen this prior to the 1.6 patch. We were using the GCM and my couriers.csv mod. There were no player deaths involved.
Saturday night I met this bug into HITS/GCM Game 10 battle.
I was a division commander and I couldn't send messages to a human brigade commander.
It happened twice at the beginning of the battle. I think they werw the first two messages sent by me.
After that I sent many others to the same brigadier without any promlems.
Always free text.

Yes the last game was a Nap OOB, but it also happens with the stock OOBs.Last nights game was a Nap mod game, right? Does it appear in games with unmodded OOB's?

That's correct, no couriers are spawned. Obviously the letter has insufficient postage and the courier will not work for low pay.I don't think a courier was spawned but I cannot be sure about this.

I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Re: Version 1.6 Courier Bug
I have run into this bug regularly in SP games. Just when I think it has stopped, it shows up again. It happens in both ACW and NapMod games, modded and stock OOBs. Kind of annoying having to send the same message twice. Yes, there is a courier. I can see him dancing around talking to me while I try and send the same message again.

SP as well!? I don't know why this didn't show up for us.
The plot thickens. Ok, well we'll look into it.
Jack if you come across it again, please get a savedgame and send it into us.

Very odd. We tested the heck out of free text couriers in one of our MP tests, and no issues.. Will be interested to see how this turns out.

Rx: The effect can be minimized if the player has either himself or the recipient selected in the battlefield view. If he has some other regiment or another commander selected, the probability of the message bouncing back to the author increases significantly, (33-50% failure rate).
