New Cannon and Explosion Sounds (V.3.5 now out featuring new fife and drums, marching effects and more!)
Re: New Cannon and Explosion Sounds (V.3.2 now out featuring new fife and drums, marching effects and more!)
Sorry about that rudy, i guess its a matter of taste, one mans meat etc.
As an experiment though, listen to the individual musket samples outside of game. (Ci_NSDBattle1.wav and 2 and 3).
They aren't dissimilar to your M&B vids. The "popcorn" effect comes from when they are all played overlapping as you have dozens of regiments firing at once. As I say there is no way to audibly simulate individual soldiers firing in the game. It has to be a long sample or nothing at all.
*Edit* Just saw your last post, thats actually a nice sample, playing about with it currently (mainly to try to remove the bugle calls) Ill see what can be done.

Here is the first vids musketry in game file form. Cant decide whether I prefer them over the originals or not. Have a test in game and see what you think. (Just copy them into the mods sound folder making sure you back up the originals if you want to change back).

As for the Total war stuff, again id have to try and record them ingame as the samples are separate shots, of course id have to get the modders permission also, could be worth a go though.

@Rudy: .ogg files are not allowed to be uploaded which is why you are seeing this.

.ogg files can be be converted to .wav or whatever, using free software like Doxillian or something like that. Most of the game music from, say, Cossacks 2 or some such, that I have is converted from .ogg. Just look around the internet. I think MTG recommended this to me.

I saw you new files and listened to them. They sound really good. The best in my opinion. I see how the three battle sounds sound a little different. If I were to change something on my own do you just add a sound file and remove the file or do they have to be named something specific? I am also a reenactor and i'll record some sound files of on the battle line during the 150th of Chancellorsville. I know live fire sounds different but hey maybe it will come out good. I'll also try and start a Rebel Yell.. I enjoy doing this when the battle line gets a little boring out there.

For some reason I am unable to download this file from Mediafile, all I keep getting is adds for various programs. Is ther another way I can get this file I have been trying for a couple of days, thanks.

I agree.
MediaFire is a complete dead loss.
I have still not been able to download from them the large file for the combined Wagram/ Peninsular mod.
Did anything come of the suggestion to transfer this mod to the nsd server ?
