10 Mile Map 1 and 2 - Released

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

My problem is when I choose my OOB I usually have armies of around 30,000. I have read that some of you have had battles with armies around 100,000 soldiers. I was wondering how I get armies that big.

I use a custom OOB I made up with 53,000 per army, that doesn't have any cavalry and a small amount of artillery.

I'm not sure which OOB that someone uses that contains 100,000 men per army, but take note that the more artillery you use, the game will become extremely slow on this map.

It may be my OOB you're referrring to. If so, send me a private message with your email address and I'll send it to you.

It's not ACW, but a kind of mid 19th C Ruritanian setting, with armies dressed in red & blue. These draw on Gunship's excellent Napoleonic sprites, so you would need to have his mods enabled too. Organisationally, the armies follow European practice with infantry battalions and cavalry squadrons, rather than ACW regiments.

DaV,

Have managed to get V2 downloaded and installed. AWESOME! Can't find anyone! However, V1 still a problem with the "invalid data" message during loading. Has anyone figured this out yet? Unfortunately, I now have Dish Network, which absolutely BLOWS as far as downloading goes. (God, I hate it.) Takes bloody forever.

Jack - You can try to copy the Packages folder from Version2 into the Version1 - and see if that helps.

Hey, do you see a Packages folder in Version1 - under the Maps\folder?

I downloaded and installed version 2 but the game quits while loading the map and I get the error message ' can't find package file'. I checked in the 'Maps' folder and there is a folder there 'Packages' containing two dat files,10MileMap and Trevilian.I tried changing this Folder name to 'package' but still the same message.I would really like to try this map so I would be grateful for any advice.

Never mind Just found the tip about tapping the Space bar

Having problems (again) getting a MOD to work. Did Bugles and Flags OK but can't get 10 Mile Map V2 to work. Running 1.6 and have Antietam installd. 10 Mile Map appears to left on Mod page but nothing written to the right? I don't get any messages or errors.

What is the corret way to download mods? I still get confused.

Thanks,
reb,
