Yeah, I think you would need some new command functions and EH's to do those kinds of things over the course of a long scenario. I have been able to somewhat control what a commander does for about an hour or so (attacking, falling back, regrouping, attacking, etc.), but eventually something occurs that throws off the sequence of events (commander gets killed, the enemy counterattacks, too many regiments are routed, etc.)

Would be nice to be able to choose whether you want an evt or series of evt's to be triggered once, twice, every time, etc.

Hancock,

The "sustained" day long fighting in many battles such as Wilderness, were not as "sustained" as you may believe. The units/men did NOT fight for 8 hours straight.
there were MANY lapses in the fighting. A brigade could be in a "hot zone for 20 minutes and sit for 40 minutes. But they were "engaged" that hour. The AI does not limit your ability to create massive scenarios, nor does it play the massive scenario unrealistically. It is you, the human player, that plays the scenario unrealistically in so many ways. But the desire is there to do it. And scenarios can be created to do so.

As far as the first day goes.....
The first day at Gettysburg is NOT a walk in the park to "create". The arriving troops, while bolstering the numbers, and replacing the depleted units, Can be pushed unrealistically forward. By unrealistic I mean... As a 90 foot general, playing a "game" makes unrealistic decisions on known intelligence. Lee at Gettysburg could have lost the war with the anhililation of the Army of Northern Virginia. You, as the 90 foot general, will take that risk, Lee could not. The Ai limits your ability to to destroy yourself. But if played correctly, victory on any level is achievable,

I'm not sure if this has been answered but I am confused on how much carry-over there will be in the game. Will it contain isolated scenarios over the 3 days or will significant gains made in scenarios carry over into later ones (i.e. if playing as the Rebels I take Cemetery Ridge on July 1, will I still have it in the pertinent scenarios on July 2)?

Some of each. Some of the scenarios are standalone and some carry over results from earlier days scenarios. The exact mix may change as we get into the intense part of scenario testing.
