Greetings
I bought the Gettysburg game sometime ago and played through the scenarios until I hit a dead end with the locked scenarios, which would require me to achieve a victory in previous scenarios.
That kind of killed the fun for me, as I play for fun not necessarily for a victory.
I was just wondering if all the games in this series have these locked scenarios? Just thinking whether or not to buy other games, but if they feature no locked scenarios I might like those more than Gettysburg.
Locked scenarios
Re: Locked scenarios
I'm not exactly sure about this due to not playing any of the scenarios.
But, download the SDK and look in the folder called Scenarios to see if you find any of the ones that you haven't played.
Most of them are located there, you just can't achieve a high-score playing them, or something like that!

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!
Re: Locked scenarios
Thanks for the reply.
The SKD is a modding tool, right?
Have to learn to use it, but good to know that all of the scenarios can be played with the tool.
Otherwise it's a great game and I'm loving it. American Civil War has always been something that I'm fascinated by and generally the time period in US. Don't know why, when I'm from Finland

Yes and No answer here. The SKD is a modding tool, right?

The SDK is a modding tool but that has nothing to do with moving the scenario's from there to in the game.
The only problem here is that I have forgotten exactly how it is done, so I can't walk you through the process.
Someone will come along shorty and provide you with a better answer than I can give you!

Re: Locked scenarios
From what I can tell it goes something like this.....
Move the Scenario from the SDK that you wish to play into the....
NorbSoftDev \ ScourgeofWar \ Gettysburg \ Work \ Scenarios folder.
Basically, to put that another way......
If you expand your games directory you have another Scenario folder inside of the Work Folder ......(Not the same as the SDK \ Scenario [/b] folder)
Move whatever Scenario from the SDk into that folder.
Then just start the game and select the User Scenario to locate that scenario.

Re: Locked scenarios
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I cannot get the scenarios showing in-game.
I got the SDK loaded just fine and found the scenarios within: Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work\SDK\Scenarios
I copied the scenario that I wanted into the folder: Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work\Scenarios
Nothing shows up in-game (User Scenarios), even when I activated the mod: NSD Sample 1. It does show two other scenarios, which are located by default in folder: Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Mods\NSD Sample 1\Scenarios.
Tried also copying the scenario that I wanted into the above mentioned folder, but it still doesn't show in-game.

Re: Locked scenarios
Got the scenario finally showing by renaming the folder.
However, it seems that the lock is hard coded, as even when starting it from user scenarios menu, it wants me to win previous scenario first.

Re: Locked scenarios
In each scenario folder you will find a scenario.ini
Open it. At the top you should see the line "Carryover=1"
Remove that whole line for each scenario and they will be unlocked.

Re: Locked scenarios
Thank you all for your help!.
Modifying the .ini file worked. I removed all references to the "Carryover" and after that the scenario opened.
Back to battlefield!
