Re: American Rev. War mod anywhere??
Hi Jack, this post follows on from my PM to you of yesterday aand your kind reply pointing me in this direction. I have these files now but what you have given here is the gfx.csv which tells the game that the flag for the artillery limbers will use the new texture. What's missing is the texture itself which should be in your mod in the GRAPHICS folder, probably in the FLAGS subfolder and it should be a dds file.
Looking in the gfx file for the Ghost_Unit flag I see reference to the image and you made it just 1 pixel by 1 pixel. Is this how you made the conversion? I was hoping you had made an actual invisible flag graphic that could still be clicked on.

T,
The GFX.csv file WILL create the image on its own. It is a simple, (Ha-Ha), restructuring of either the existing Austrian Limber flag or the US Cav Limber flag. Either running the file as a mod folder or, (as I have done), adding the Ghost_Unit line directly to the existing gfx.csv file in either the Game or the NapMod will make it work. There were no other changes made and no actual graphics done. What it really does is make the Graphic draw so small as to be "invisible."

Yes, there is still a "flag" you can click on. it just takes practice in knowing where it is above the gun carrige.

Re: American Rev. War mod anywhere??
Let me start by saying hello to all, as this is my very first post :silly:. I am very curious as to whether or not this mod was ever finished, or if it's maybe still being worked on at all? I'm an avid fan of history, gaming, modding, and Ive been playing and loving this game for a few years now. I always thought this engine would be great for a mod depicting the American Revolution, and I'd be very interested in possibly doing what i can to help create one. Let me just say I am very inexperienced at creating mods and my only real "marketable" skill is (VERY) basic experience and knowledge of Photoshop, and 3d modeling.. which doesn't really come in handy with a game that uses 2D sprites
but i am certainly willing to learn new things, and I have a passion for gaming and history, especially when it comes to the American Revolution and Civil War. If nothing else i could help with research or maybe just provide morale support :laugh: for starters here a few lovely images for inspiration.

And to get the idea for a couple sprites we'll need to make continental line regiments;

All,
This Folder is available now. Posted above is the information on how many sprites there are and such. I doubt if I will be converting any more sprites for this, but you never know. If anyone wants this, I'll send it to you via either flash-drive or CD. The folder WILL fit on a CD.
Don, if you want this, send the flash-drive back and I'll post it to you again.

Re: American Rev. War mod anywhere??
oh wow thanks Jack, that screenshot's awesome, that looks great! I'd love to get my hands on a copy of it. What's the best/easiest way to go about that for you? Mail a flashdrive to you with an extra pre-paid envelope? or a CD?
Also if there's anything a noob like me can do, I'd love to help. btw I really like the sprites you have in that screenshot there, they look great, but i feel like they'd look absolutely AMAZING with another 1 or 2 sprites mixed in to make them more irregular. I'm very curious as to how one goes about "converting" and/or altering the sprites; I can't seem to find anything about it in the forums here. I'm guessing/hopeing it can be done with a program like photoshop which i know how to use. I have a lot of basic ideas in my head about how I could maybe slightly alter or swap some bits and pieces around on some of the existing sprites to look more like continental militia etc.

Jack - much praise for having the patience to convert these.
So as I have the old graphics from TCM2 I am assuming I just need to download the csv entries in your posts?
