Looking for Mods for Main game (Scenarios)

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Looking for Mods for Main game (Scenarios)

Post by Glynbo »

Hi guys, I bought Scourge of War 150th Anniversary edition. Are there any mods that work on the scenarios? I've got a few to work but only on sandbox. I was really hoping for some to work on the main game. Particularly the musket fire and artillery.

Hi Glynbo and welcome to the forums.

It depends what you are looking for in the areas of changed musketry and artillery. A lot of people have a lot of different views on what the ACW battlefield was like in terms of the effectiveness of both.

I can recommend this mod though which alters morale, musket range, flanks and rear fire penalties, melee (to a degree), artillery range and effectiveness quite a bit. It may not align with what you think ACW battles were like though.

Thanks for the reply. I will give that mod a try, thanks. Trouble I'm having in the main game scenarios is the sound. From the moment the battle starts there is a loud annoying sound of something like horses or whatever moving even though nothing might be moving at all. It drowns out any musket fire sounds. I can hardly hear them even when zoomed right in.

The only sound that plays often is the fluttering flag sound if you're zoomed in on your avatar. At altitude you should hear nothing unless you're close to the fighting.

If you could record a short snippet of the noise in question and upload it somewhere we could pin down what it is.

Thanks Chamberlain.

Saddletank, I'll try and get a sound snippet today. It just sounds like wagns constantly on the move all the time. I played Second Manassas a while ago, and the audio is much better on that game.
