Mod for Uniform Changes in "Low" setting

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Mod for Uniform Changes in "Low" setting

Post by Jack ONeill »

All,

Since the Reb is fussing about no ACW aspects on the Forum, (right), I thought I would post this small Mod.

For those of you whose Computers have to run the Uniform settings in the "Low" position to play the game, (I did in the Beginning), I present you with this Uniform Mod.

This Mod will give you Two different uniforms in the "Low" setting, for both Rebs and Yanks. I know I got REALLY tired of just the one uniform. I've run this a number of times and can detect NO change in FPS during the game with the addition of the 2 extra sprites.

All you have to do is create a Logistics Folder and put the new unitmodel.csv File in it. Then place it in a MOD folder title New Uniforms or whatever and activate it. You'll get a random number of two different uniforms.

Enjoy or not...

Now, Back to the SSW.

Hello, Jack ONeill!
A quick clarification question from a day-2 noobie on SOW: Please describe " a logistics folder." I've saved your mod to the modification folder, but I'm not sure about the logistics folder. Thanks for your help.
Chris

PS - SSW?

No Problem - In order for a Mod to work, all files in it must correspond to existing files in the main game.

You must create a Folder to be named by you, to be put into the "mods" section of the game. Within that folder you must create another Folder named "Logistics". Within that folder you must put the unitmodel.csv file. All of that goes in the MODS section of the game.

The whole thing looks like this - My Computer - OS(C) - NorbSoftDev - Scourge of War-Gettysburg - Mods. Open the Mods section and copy your folder into it.

Go to the Mods section at the front page of the game, open it and activate the Mod. (Little Yellow Box and all that.) In "OPTIONS" set your Uniforms to "LOW".

Enjoy.

Write back if it doesn't work. We'll get you there.

Thank you for that speedy and clear reply, Jack! I get it now; I just wasn't sure about naming the subfolder.

War of the Spanish Succession...hmmm...Give a few moments to go find my match lock and sword so I can help those out-numbered hard-pressed Hollandaise.

J,

Might want to swap out your matchlock for a "King Williams Land Pattern Musket."( The pre-curser to the Brown Bess.) They were all the rage by 1701.

Be advised - be very careful with this game. It is savagely addicting. OOPS! Too late! You've already added you first Mod. Screwed now...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
