Custers Last Stand

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Your log is saying otherwise. It says a toolbar mod is active.

A crash after 2 hours play sounds like a problem others have had running Win8.1. If that's the case, check the threads in the technical problems sub-forum that discuss the problem for a possible solution.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

(no idea what last line means: "07:00:01 Game Ended because: Player decimated and gave up"...I didn't quit the game, it crashed?)
I've no idea either. Cannot recall ever seeing that log entry before. It's certainly not a feature of the mod, which can quite frequently see most or all of the 7th Cavalry wiped out.

I'll ask around and see if anyone else knows..........

*chuckle* You do not want to find the Indians to fight them. Trust me on this. You want to find their encampment and attack it to make some non-combatant units surrender.

ok, just played over 2hr of a 3hr sandbox game (as a brigade under custer, no other mods on and with the "options" posted) and I crashed...log file attached...

(no idea what last line means: "07:00:01 Game Ended because: Player decimated and gave up"...I didn't quit the game, it crashed?)
That message can be apparently be generated when all of one side is wiped-out. That can happen to the US Army with this mod but, from your post, it does not seem to have occurred in your game. My 'go-to guy' thinks this is therefore most likely a Win8.1 issue. But neither of us use that version of Windows and are unable to suggest a fix.

I should say that 7 of us played the mod in MP yesterday without any problems (well apart from the Sioux, that is). I appreciate that this is not really helpful to you however. Maybe someone else on the forum can suggest a way forward?

Here is a new version of the Little Bighorn Campaign mod https://www.dropbox.com/s/epienz8n97y30 ... 3.zip?dl=0

The main change is a new OOB to allow you to play the Sioux/Cheyenne against AI-controlled US Army columns of varying strength and composition.

The other main addition is the inclusion of a whizzo new map (thanks to Crikey). The Eagle River map represents some hypothetical but typical high plains country. Very atmospheric! It includes a number of Indian camps, pony herds and even buffalo in one area. Unusually for this mod, if you use this particular map, you should set your vegetation at 100% and map objects as ‘best’ in the options screens.

You will get most out of this if you read the word doc in the main mod folder. This includes comments on the history, design approach, and how to maximise your chances of winning.

The mod is still a work in progress. All comments welcome, and hope you enjoy it.

Bug report :(

When I select in Indians in the sand box and started the game it immediately crashed. Then when I restarted SOW, SOW would not start, it immediately crashed. I had to remove this mod from the mods folder to get SOW working again.

When I select the US side the game ran good.

I had all unnecessary mods off.

Sorry to hear that SJDI. 5 of us played MP as the Sioux yesterday and it ran fine, although that was a scenario game rather than sandbox. I've just started the game half a dozen times in sandbox and it's working fine for me.

I'll try and replicate your problem. Can you remember which Indian leader you selected and which part (corps) of the OOB? Also which map you were playing on?

I take it you were using the Little_Bighorn_Indian player OOB? If not, it still shouldn't cause it to crash, but just checking.

One final thing. The only mods you were using are CouriersAndMaps and LBH? No toolbar mod for example? Right?

Yes only used Little_Bighorn_Indian player OOB

Activated modes were CouriersAndMaps and LBH

No tool bar mods

Eagle River Map

Wales experienced the same problem. I tried his solution of decompressing the file in the download file and dragging it to the mods folder to no avail.
