How does fortified positions work?

Will we be able to duplicate what the garrisson of hougoumont did? sustain repeated assaults from an entire corps with no more than one brigade during the entire battle? How are the fortified positions molded in terms of gameplay/historical accuracy?

Yes, the Houg battle is on our scenario list - an attack (French) and a defend (Allies) option. SOW is not designed to be a fortification/urban warfare sim, but proper management of the troops in the forts, stop artillery from hammering the place and lowering the defensive bonus too much, keep morale high, use skirmishers to delay forces on approach and rotate with new units regularly you might be able to keep Houg for the duration.
