You are welcome. It is a big map, you will be very pleased.

In the Napoleon inspired, "destroy the enemy army' campaign you really need to watch the town status screen, the map and get your scouting forces out to figure out where their main force is.

Hi con20or

Looks like a very nice addition to the battle game. Well done.

Thanks for posting the map. Noticed a few typos though:

Lourain should be Louvain
Mayberge should be Maubeuge
Valviennes should be Valenciennes

Hope I’m not too late :)

Much too late unfortunately, but I will let the map and language guys argue with you over those :silly:

Spelling in that era was a full contact sport. Historical sources of the day don't agree with each other. You can't win no matter which way you decide to spell things.

Would be sensible to not use contemporary spellings then but the accepted modern ones which 99% of your customers will probably expect. I wouldn't have thought that was a difficult option to plump for ;)

This is very interesting, Campaign Map,.... This is what could be done for a Jackson campaign, indeed this would work for the whole of the War between the states.
Could this style of campaign map be ported over to SOW series ?

I would be amazed if Norb and his team haven't already considered this... B)

It would probably work best in a limited campaign setting like the Peninsula/Seven days or the Valley (any year).

Though you could probably make the map and forces as big as you like, I expect the limiting factor will be computing power and possibly the number of battles that potentially can happen at the same time.

I would think it is very unlikely, but it is not my field so I could be wrong.

My thinking is that because the campaign map and interface was designed using all the new tools, making it backwards compatible would be very difficult. It is more likely that further down the line modded ACW troops could be used with a modded ACW map but using the SOW Waterloo engine.

Ah. I was assuming a future ACW title would be made using the new engine.

It very likely will but I understood the question, could the "campaign map be ported over to the SOW series", to mean the existing SOW games - GB, etc.

We have one goal in mind right now - that is June 11th :)
