$65 ? Are you kidding me?
Re: $65 ? Are you kidding me?
No disrespect intended good Sir, and I know the amount of time it takes to develop these games.
For me, the price is just too high right now, maybe I'll find a sale down the road.
I just can't justify paying that much right now.
And exchange is a big factor. The Canadian dollor is around $0.80US.

If I even get half the use out of this game as I did the previous one, I'll still be only paying ~2 cents/hr. Pretty cheap entertainment.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Looking forward to spending a lot of time in Belgium, game worth every penny.
Congrats to all involved.

It was by no means a major complaint. Given the size of the the team the price needs to be about AAA price.I understand, but all I can say is we did not take a vow of poverty when we signed up to make it. Waterloo represents over two years work of missed weekends, working through holidays, every evening after work.
This game will give you years of replay value.
I would have bought it for 600NOK if need be

Scourge of War is one of two wargame series that I know I will get value for money. I calculate on the basis of £5 per 1 hour of play. This game - I went for hard copy - cost me a little under £40, so I need 8 hours of play to break even. So far today I have chalked up 3 hours and looking forward to many more.
A certain other Napoleonic series - I have bought both games - I do not believe I have exceeded 9 hours. I bought both of those when they were released.

Everybody has his limits... in my case for this game i use
30-35 euros instant buy
35-40 euros wait the reviews but i read very good things about game in the wargamers forum i "life"
over 40 euros wait discounts and depend what discount use related with game quality.
In my case a simple discount of 25% made game a buy for me... this is why allways find strange dont use these kind of tactics to secure sells first days with a discount buying game first week... Matrix do this with some releases and if i dont remember bad when they release Flashpoint players edition do a 50% discount.
Sometimes to win more you need sell more units by lower price but is your game and you do with it all you want... in same way is my money and i decide what do with it.
Good luck.
PD: i have now a 450 euros reserve for my "joy" but is not like i am going to have a lot if i waste it with prices like this... and i have other wargames in the future and some books.

I also was just a little taken aback by the $65 price tag but I certainly believe that there will most likely be good value here. Will have to ponder awhile.
Re: $65 ? Are you kidding me?
It's $70 here in Australian dollars. Same dollar for bread and milk though (i.e. bread and milk costs the same as in the states I would say so why the discrepancy in coin for a foreign coin that in reality should be the same weight and quality of raw metal of a local coin and can be checked upon delivery of that coin). This essentially means I have to work harder to get the same result. We campaign against pay discrepancy for women and other things like this. But not when it comes to trade. Which also hurts local jobs in the US because a country can make it cheaper for disloyal patriots in corporate seats to offshore work.
The world is still corrupt. Free trade my bottom
It really brings meaning to one of the other guys statements here on this forum advising me to stop asking questions and just buy it to see whether I like it...
Download Edition
AUD 69.99 tax included
Boxed Edition
(+ free download)
AUD 76.99
This price is not the usual $20-$40 I am used to paying for AAA games on steam.

Re: $65 ? Are you kidding me?
I don't remember what I paid for SOW:Gettysburg when it first came out.
But if I averaged that price out with the time I've played, it'd be about a 1/10th of a cent per hour of play -- or less.
I didn't flinch for a second at $49.00
Another bargain by any measure.
