Hi all, really glad this is out, and just in time for the 200th year Unfortunately I can't buy it just yet as I'm in the middle of Witcher 3 and really want to finish it.
Loved the SOW Gettysburg game and the tool bars - reading the forum I hear there is a toolbar mod already with the game by the same person. Any chance we can get screen shots of this / manual download to look over. I've watched the twitch show, but that only had the standard toolbar.
This is the default 1024x768 resolution. For HDTV (BIG screen) folks I recommend 2080x1024 so the toolbar is not so dominant but still large enough so the buttons aren't too small.

Bugles & Flags Gettysburg - Toolbar, Flags, Scenarios, and More...
Just wanted to a give a huge, "THANK YOU!" for this toolbar.
I really, really don't like the new vanilla interface. As a HITS player, it struck me as inferior and frustrating to Gettysburg's. ("Why do I have to look around for the "Go to Me" button?" "Where's the ammo counter?" Why can't I just change my facing and remain in my current position?") Needless to say my initial impressions of SOW: Waterloo's new interface were not good.
So, the Grog Toolbar saves the game for me.
I really don't understand what prompted the attempt to "reinvent the wheel" when it came to SOW's interface. Yes, Gettysburg's could use some tweaks and fixes, but Waterloo's massive overhaul seems as if it was "change for the sake of change."
Unfortunately, I noticed a lot of stuff in Waterloo that feels "undercooked" such as no after-action reports, no quick glance OOB screen in which one can see all of a brigade's regiments' strength and status, and a replay feature that is incapable of showing "split" skirmish units and has Wellington's and Napoleon's "block" armies decked out in blue and butternut gray. It appears that some areas as to polish and presentation were "saved for later" (hopefully) in order to get this game out before the 200th anniversary.
The stock toolbar was designed to be in line with the newest UI setups, standard equipment for games of this genre if you will. Hopefully we can address some, if not all, of your other concerns eventually.

I really like the new interfsce because it's really good in the normal view, though I can see how it may not be so good in HitS mode. The need to use the toolbar for everything was something that was unfortunate in the other SoW games.
That being said, HitS is a mode that requires a very different interface because you can't easily see the destination of troops so in that sense I can see how buttons would be better.
It's tough to make an interface good for both modes.
We have added HITS Move - it allows you to move your general using WSAD and spacebar. The manual exlains it in greater detail and you can turn it on in the in-game options.
