Update, version 3.0...

-NEW 'Battle Line'
- 2nd row side steps to fill gap and shoots between 1st row troops
- It can't move so defaults to column by divisions when moved, eliminating lines moving about once the action begins
- When engaged, troops cycle through reloading replacing the static look with action
- The shooting/firing sprite now appears in the advance and withdraw sequences

-Battalion line formations segmented by companies per Nation: British Allies 10, French and Dutch 6, Prussia 4 (all complete segments display with full '200 sprites' unit)

-Column by Divisions adapted as the default movement mode for battalions
- Closed interval form used by battle lines
- Full intervals used for assault sequences

-Battalion pop up window with additional formations
- Additional column by divisions options plus skirmish

-Windowed formation adjustments and consolidation
- Prussian formations shown separately are unique to Prussia
- Most redundancies seen in version 2.0 have been removed

-HOT Buttons added to Infantry and Cavalry Destination Menus: attackmarch, column or column by divisions, run
- Like stacking commands with the queue, but with one click
- Identify and mouse over the red attackmarch button for specifics

-Artillery advance 20 and 50 yards included both on Targeting menus and toolbar

By my testing the new battle line and column by divisions infusions have greatly reduced the helter skelter look of the battlefield by eliminating and restricting line movements. Also, I really like the busy engaged line look now, except when they synchronize after a volley :S ...but it goes random pretty fast, thank goodness. :)

Reb the new tool bar is fantastic. Its a marked improvement to the game. I would term this as a vital patch rather than just a mod.

Thank you so much for this addition its improved my games no end.

Reb

Absolutely a tremendous mod, enhanced my enjoyment of the simulation 100%

Just one quick question, what sprite ratio do you recommend I use?

oops, forgot to say THANKS

NICE lineup of kudos for this mod, much appreciated ALL! :)

In some ways having this in mod form is a plus as I can alter files as I see fit and release at will. However, the downside is that this mod is not high priority for patches, so improvements needed externally (for example, officer unit types set) may materialize slow, if at all. :(

Answering the preferred sprite ratio question, I suggest SR4 for division and below levels and up to SR10 for above, depending on computer performance.

This is a great mod. Saves the game for me, but there may be a glitch in the latest version. In Sandbox, I'm playing Boudin's division in a corps sized line of sight battle and my infantry won't shoot! I've gotten them within point blank range and they don't shoot at infantry. I tried this in a few games and I think they shot at some cav but never at other infantry.

I will experiment some more. Thanks for the great mod.

I do most of my testing in sandbox and I haven't seen that issue, infantry engages infantry just fine by my observations. Now, with the new 'Battle Line' engagement response time is slower as lines switch from line to lineFight. Still, I'll look for this issue.

Thanks for the report, and Welcome :)

Anyone else experiencing infantry not engaging infantry?
