it's 10:1, but it's not moddable, it's hard coded.

Took a quick look into the TC2M manual, could'nt find the ratio of that game. So what is the ratio of TC2M ? if GB is 4:1.
I'm pretty sure it's 10:1, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
So the figures or sprites I think you call them, will be two and a half times larger in size on the GB screen than TC2M.

Larger in number, not size. So in other words, every graphic/figure of a soldier on the field will actually represent 4 men. When 4 men die, a figure keels over.. :)

Just went back to your Dec. SSs and the site vidieo, but did'nt get the full screen effect, so, I'm not able to get the full detail of the ratio your talking about. :( Could you post saome full size shots, :) come to think of it, I'd better check Bedbug's article.

What's your max number of sprites in a regiment in GB? Just based on a theoretical max strength of 1000 men, that would be 250 sprites. If I remember correctly, the 26thNC had between 800 and 900 men at the beginning of the battle. A very large regiment for either army. At 4:1 that would give us 200 to 225 sprites for this regiment, right? With the "column of fours" being implemented (I believe) instead of the inaccurate TC2M "column of threes", that will really help stretch out the length of the regiments. Sounds good.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Indeed, the regiments really are stretched out and you get a much better sense of the size of the forces in this game.

There will be more screenshots coming soon, and you'll be able to see what I'm talking about. :)

Great.

Enjoy your walk across the fields of Pickett's charge as much as I did when I was in Kemper's brigade for the GB movie as mentioned in the MHO forum.

4:1 ratio is great thank you guys. Cannot wait to see what the maximum number of sprites a decent pc will handle when the game is finalized to see what size battle we could have.

I ended up on the cutting room floor for both "Gettysburg" and "Gods and Generals". In G&G I was in the Irish Brigade charge on Marye's Heights. But being involved in both movies was interesting. Anyone who has a chance to do it should do it at least once just to see what movie making is like.
