Solved - Constant crashes

Still loving the game but irregular crashes are driving me crazy. As I posted before, I have an adequate NVidia card and still running XP.

Initially, the screen would go black but I could hear the battle going on. The only recourse has been to turn the computer off and then back on. These happen without regard to scenario, size, type or whatever mods are in use. Often the game doesn't crash at all. Sometimes it will crash several times in a row.

Lately, a screen comes up to send data to Microsoft. Playing a Bavarian division using the KS Mod yesterday I got this: BCCode : ea BCP1 : 886DE698 BCP2 : 88E5E5E0 BCP3 : 894FC290
BCP4 : 00000001 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1

I've attached a doc with the specifics which you can hopefully open. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Black screen seems something graphic card related: try to set in SOWWL.ini file in the game directory under Documents

That appears to have done the trick. In fact, I had no such entries in my ini. file so I had to create them. Now I can get on with some serious playing.

Edit: Spoke too soon. I completed a corps-sized battle with Bavarians vs. Austrians over two sessions without problems so I started an 1807 game as Lannes vs. Russians adding the latest KS mod and the game crashed hard after 10 minutes.

Any other suggestions or should I post on the KS forums?

Any errors in your log file (sowwl.log)? it is in the same folder as the ini file you just edited.

You need to download KS Sprite Mod 1.02. You are using an old version.

If you have problems with the KS mod, it is better to ask questions on the KS forum.

This is exactly what I've been experiencing as well.
