Single Play
Re:Single Play
Hey guys, i looked into satellite and quite frankly i wasn't impressed at least with the ones out here. Not only will it cost an extra $70 to $100/mo. but because of the built in latency delays, all of em say its NOT recommended for on line games. Further, unless one is willing to spend lets say a $100/mo. on a premium package, the througput bit rates are NOT gauranteed during high peak demand times for the $70/mo packages. In addition, interruptions can occur during inclement wheather conditions.
Its OK for downloading big files but thats about it far as i can tell.
Forget it! I'm already paying for satellite DishTV, telephone, ISP dialup, electric and propane. Also i'm not crazy about the idea to install a network driver/HW in my PC to support satellite internett access.
I'm quite content  to play against the AI, hopefully it'll be a little better in the new game.

Yeah, from what I'm seeing so far I think playing single player will still be awesome for you. The 20 scenario's, open play, and plus the possibilities for mods/custom scenario's. I know for a fact that I'll be creating scenario's. And heck, maybe you can find another gamer to play a local area network game with you (son/daughter, friend, spouse).Hey guys, i looked into satellite and quite frankly i wasn't impressed at least with the ones out here. I firmly hope to get my wife hooked so we can sit next to each other and have battles. I was bored so set up a home network for me and the missus. Failing that I will just have to amuse myself with the sandbox for hours on end.
I want to add on another little PC for the kids at somepoint so I can imagine all of us playing a battle together with a giant bowl of popcorn and gallons of soda at hand

This probably sounds a bit mad but you could even play against yourself (notice I avoided the term 'with yourself' ). Just start a battle have one side defend the other attack - give orders to the defence and then see if you can break them down or vice versa. Intervene on one side or the other every now and again - maybe set yourself rules like five orders per side for two miutes then over to the other side. Solo wargaming was popular at one time when you issued orders and then picked cards for random events etc. Could be a laugh anyway.I firmly hope to get my wife hooked so we can sit next to each other and have battles. My daughter tested all of the tutorials for TC2M except for the corps level. She was in 5th grade at the time and had no trouble picking up the basics. She is waiting impatiently for me to draft the GB tutorials so she can test those as well.

Re:Single Play
I have this thing in TC2M where I make scenario where I command both sides and make up all these ideas on how the battle will play out it's fun and it's alot of work commanding both sides but you get used to it.
