Just upgraded to Win 10 (not entirely of my own volition, but that's another story), and it appears that SoWW doesn't work with Win 10.
One scenario loads and then everything freezes.
Another loads with big black patches everywhere and also freezes.
Requires soft boot to close the program.
Not good.
Any guidance, please, or is this software simply not yet Win 10 ready?

Btw it's the Matrix version I'm using, not Steam.

Re: Windows 10
You need to run the game in Win7 compatibility mode.
HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.
Re: Windows 10
no ohter people are using win10. Try to make this first: http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/nuts-a ... post#71197 ; the problem was different but perhaps they're related.
Check also if the game is running with the compatibility with win7.

Thx Saddletank.
I did search the forum for a solution but perhaps didn't use the best search string.
Anyway I took the opportunity to uninstall the Mtrix version and install the Steam version, which seems to work fine (although mods need to be re-installed).
Still getting a message that Steam is running in Windows compatibility mode, which it isn't, but that's a separate issue.
So, all good here, I think.

Re: Windows 10
I have noticed several freezes with the Matrix version in win 10 that are difficult to replicate. The Waterloo scenarios load fine and you are presented with the battle screen but it is frozen at that point, no animation, no mouse. The only thing to do is bring up task manager and kill off the game. I haven't seen any error messages in the logs and this is the first time someone else has mentioned it that I have seen.
