I have the game and it's running fine on my computer. I also have Teamspeak ready to go. But I need some more practice before I get into Garnier's Mod multiplayer. I am doing ok with Brigade and Division (well, ok for a noob, lol) but really struggling at Corps level.
I think that my biggest issues involve using AI commands and that conflicting with my own commands. If that makes sense.
My understanding is that there is a rapport between Stance (Orders), AI Divisional Strategy, Tactics (eg: Destination), and TC (Take Command).
The logic of auto-deployment of an AI Division Officer is triggered when a brigade/battery is engaged. Engagement ranges are: Infantry=150 yds, Cavalry=300 yds, Artillery=1500-1800 yds. (Is this correct?).
At this point, the Division AI assigns all "non-engaged" brigades a Stance and a Destination based on one of a list of AI schemas, being more or less aggressive based on the Officer's style. (Is this correct?).
The player can avoid the use of AI Division Strategy ( eg: Force Brigades to continue along path; use selected Formation) by setting "Hold To The Last" Stance for the Division.
Other Stances can be used to force a different AI schema (resetting the old one)(eg: "All Out Attack" is more probable to have an aggressive schema.
Questions:
1) What is the proper order of clicking to make these things happen? Eg: I click Division Officer, then click Destination, then click Orders (Stance-Hold To Last), then click Formation. Is this correct?
2) Now a Brigade is engaged, triggering the AI Division Strategy. I want to move a Brigade further left to flank enemy, then attack. What is the proper way to do this? Just click Destination? Do I need to click Take Command? Do I need to click Detach Brigade? What order do I click these?
3) Now, after fighting for a while, some Brigades are still under AI Division Strategy and some are not. How do I reform/regroup them all under Division AI?
What has been happening for me, is that I have guys running around like monkeys with their heads chopped off. Some Brigades are following my orders, some that I want to have follow my orders are not following my orders, and some Brigades that I want under AI are interfering with Brigades under my orders.
At Corps level (which is what I will play in Garnier's Mod MP, correct?) I find that it's too much to micromanage all units, so utilizing the Division AI in conjuction with units that I manage myself is the best way for me to play, so I am trying to better understand this.
Thanks for any and all help and advice!

Re: More New Player Questions
When commanding a Corps, is there a way to give commands to Division Commanders besides clicking on their Flag?
Re: More New Player Questions
Ok, getting Major Victories now on the Corps tutorial, so I'm getting the hang of it. I think there is always some crazy AI because it is part of the 'realism' of this game. There's probably better ways of managing and manuevering than what I am doing, but it's working out and I am really enjoying this game!

Alright, glad you're finding success. Good questions, but too many for me to answer specifically at this time. Control of your generals is your main theme here so let me add:Ok, getting Major Victories now on the Corps tutorial, so I'm getting the hang of it. -The order Hold to the Last not only gives you better cooperation from your troops when moving from point A to point B, or, holding a position, but also it insures that officers won't change their orders. All the other orders, attack, etc., will eventually change according to the officer's profile stance.
-For ultimate control of a division or corps use the command tcofficers (can be added to the keyboard or is available on some toolbar mods). Give the destination and formation then tcofficers. TC off as each brigade becomes engaged and assign orders or let them follow their stance.

Re: More New Player Questions
Thanks Reb. I really like this game! I played a multiplayer game tonight, didn't do too well, but did have a second wind and drove the enemy off an objective and held it for a very short while, Didn't handle the troops too well, but I'll improve with practice. Good bunch of guys in that game, very welcoming even though I was a liability. The game ran very well, no problems. That was nice.
I'll be back on the battlefield after some more single player experience, and I will dig out my mic/headset as that will make things easier too. Great work you've done developing this!
