The message I get is "Random map 6L 3.lsl Level not found" (same with other maps) the next box when responded to leads to the game crashing out altogether.
You must use the maps that begin with a country name. In this case it would be Austria Random Map 6L 3. The others are for use with KS Gburg mod.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Thank you for responding, Chaps: appreciated.

All the maps I have selected from the user scenario list screen begin with have a country name. It matters not which map is chosen the result is the same, the level is not found. Today I get a picture screen which says loading at the bottom but that is frozen. Ctrl alt delete shows Soww and the KS mod running but the game stops working when further action is taken.

In the supplemental maps folder I see Gettysburg maps and random maps listed but no maps beginning with a country.

The attachment SoWWMods.jpg is no longer available
Something appears to be missing from my system or my understanding!

The Gburg maps require you to already have those. You must copy the lsl files from SOWGB to a mod folder in SOWWL. The scenarios that use a GB map are labeled as such in the scenario description.

All the other scenarios are fully playable with just SOWWL and the KS mods.

If you are having problems, I suggest you bring your questions to the KS forum where people will be better able to help you.

I only own Waterloo. So I need to buy GB too in order to enjoy KS?

Only to play scenarios that were built using the Gettysburg maps. Most of the scenarios use free maps so you have plenty to choose from.

We have had a couple of people installing the 3 KS Mods incorrectly. An extra level of folders is being introduced, we don't know why. All you have to do is d/l the mod's 7z file to your desktop, double click it to open it then drag the single folder inside it into your SOWWL/Mods folder. That is all. Then activate it in the games modifications screen, close the game and reopen it.

The hierarchy of folders in your Mods folder must look like this:

It is a silly thing Martin.

When the zipped file is in the mods folder and clicked with the RMB or dragged into that folder with the RMB, a context menu will popup.

The choice "Extract here" is the good to go.

The choice "Extract to /name of the mod" will create another folder that is not needed and causes the problem.

Ugh. How annoying. I wasn't aware of that. I always just open a .zip or .7z file on the desktop then drag the file(s) in it across to where I want it. Now I can see why the .zip or .7z program is causing all these problems.
