Gettysburg on the tube.

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

Gettysburg on the tube.

Post by Chris G. »

For all you folks that get the Military channel, Friday evening April the 10th at 9 p.m. EST. An hour long program about the battle, with a program about Abe's Gettysburg address to follow. Might be worth watching considering the run-up to Norb and co.'s upcoming release.

I'm gonna settle in that night and watch the program. Looks like there are reenactors (sp), anybody from the forum?

This should be required training to all who plan to purchase this game :P

On another note: I remember seeing something a while back of an animated lincoln that brings him to look real, some show that focus around his death at Ford's theater. Never heard about it since. I thought it was going to be on the history channel or something simular. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

I think the one you're talking about is the History Channel show about stealing Lincoln's body. While I thought the computer generated Lincoln looked very convincing, they only used the CG Lincoln for a few seconds over the whole 2 hour (I think) program.

AJ

My cable provides International (world) History Channel, History Channel and Military Channel, which all presented stories related to Lincoln since the beginning of the year. Did you see all of them?

I only get the History Channel which I've been very disappointed in the last several years. Unless you like programs like "The history of plywood" then probably some of the other history channels are better. You'd think with all the history programming availble, the History Channel could come up with better programming. And why are shows like Monsterquest and UFO Hunters on the History Channel?

However, I should program my DVR to keep an eye out for programs about Lincoln. I already have it programmed to record anything about Gettysburg or Antietam.

[you did notice "Antietam" there didn't you NSD..hint...hint]

Even with the viewing package I have the programs can get real lame. There's a cable PBS Channel that does some good history content once in a while, usually when there is a good show on another channel at the same time. At least we should get reruns of the GB show before the GB anniversity this July.
