lots of questions #3

if your troops say "routed" theres not bringing them back right?
What does TC'd mean? And one suggestions, when you do a right or left flank, it would seem that it would be better if they just did a left or right face, marched straight to one side and faced forward and started firing. i feel like that is what they would do in real life. right now they kind of swirl around and move off in a group to re-allign. thanks again for your help.

Nope. Once they are routed theres no bringing them back. Its important to keep an eye on your units morale and fatigue. Not all units are equal. If you see a units morale sinking fast, pull them back behind the lines and allow them to regroup. Its important to keep a few good units in reserve to plug up holes in the line when the more cowardly units run off.

TC means "take charge" This disables the AI and puts the unit directly under your command. However it also means they wont be able to respond properly to threats unless you keep watch over them constantly and control them directly as there is no longer any AI controlling them.

The swirling line(or conga line as its sometimes called) is just a graphical representation. The game sees the unit as the units flag and not the actual sprites. Pay it no mind.

Sweet. Is the best way to pull back just to fall back while engaged? ive tried to just move them back on run and reset them, but it doesn't work usually. they end up breaking and running....

The best way is to notice it before it gets to the point that they break and run. Also don't double quick them when you pull them back. Double quick increases your fatigue drastically. Increased fatigue can make a unit more prone to rout. Also when you see a unit break and run, that doesn't always mean they've routed. Look towards where they are running and if you see an arrow, that's their destination and they are in fact just retreating. If you keep them out of the action they will recover and you can bring them back into the action later on.

Generally to pull a unit out of the line Il use fall back while engaged, but simultaneously Il bring up another unit to take their place. As the original unit falls back Il edge the new unit in allowing the old unit to just pull back at that point.

If a unit is in combat it will want to stay in combat, defending itself, so the best way to get a unit out of danger to give it time to rest is to TC it, form it into column and just give it a location in the rear. When TCd its AI is switched off so it'll ignore any threats and get out of there as quickly as possible.

Thanks again. when i put my cursor on the objection point in the last battle i fought it says "HOLD: 0 Min". how can that be? And when i fought my last battle i noticed the red clock counted down to zero, and nothing happened, then it counted down again from like one minute, and nothing happened, then again and again. how does that happen? I also noticed when that when i clicked on a battalion it shows a bunch of the bonus's like high ground, etc. but when i clicked on 3 or 4 different battalions they all showed the same bonus's which seems unlikely. Are all the bonus's always there but LIGHT UP when they are in effect? or do they disappear and reappear as they come and go? does that make sense?

and just one more thing and i think i'll be able to figure anything else out on my own. When you win battles, you build up your forces and leadership and all that. How does that work? i mean, what if im jumping around playing different maps and different difficulties, and replaying battles and all that? how does the leadership points and soldiers moral and all that work if your playing them out of order and jumping around? i hope im explaining what i mean well. and i know im annoying. ;)

The objective mouseover can't show seconds so it shows a 0 for under a minute. In this case the objective points are per minute. With each countdown your officer displaying the red objective info 'read out' receives the objective points.

Regarding your second set of questions, there is no relationship, morale or other upgrades between scenarios unless clearly identified in it's description or Intro. There is a path to promotion in GB but this wasn't included with WL.

Unit status or bonus icons light up when they apply.

Gotcha. okay so if it says 0 minutes, what is it telling me then? hold the objective for less than one minute?

"The objective mouseover can't show seconds so it shows a 0 for under a minute. In this case the objective points are per minute. With each countdown your officer displaying the red objective info 'read out' receives the objective points."

i dont get what this means, objective points are per minute? so every minute i get points or not depending on whether im holding the objective point?

Yes. Objective points are worth a certain amount of points per minute you hold them. This is why I told you its important to take them as fast and as early in the scenario as possible. If you capture an objective 10 minutes into an hour long scenario, you're going to spend 50 minutes extracting points from that objective just for holding it. If you capture an objective 55 minutes into an hour long scenario you're going to get virtually nothing for it because it took you so long to capture it that now there isn't enough time left in the scenario to really extract a lot of points from it. That's why I stressed to be reckless and go for the objectives as fast as possible. Then once you get them to sit on them for the remainder of the scenario.
The key in 99% of the scenarios in this game is to grab the objectives as fast as possible and hold onto them.
