Game won't start

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Game won't start

I downloaded the updated matrix version, I installed it no problem.
I start the game and get the desktop menu, when I hit Play,
I get a black square that overs half my screen, the square disappear after about a second, and then nothing more happens.

Hey Gunfreak,

Check and see if the anti-virus on your laptop is causing the issue where it could be quarantining the game exe file.

Also, make sure the game is running in the Compatibility" to Windows 7 mode. See following link :

Maybe a corrupted download ? maybe you can download the game again.....

Have you tried starting the game with the exe that is in the home directory of the install ?

Nope it's a fresh Windows 7 install.
CWGII -> SMG -> SMA -> WNLB -> ANGV -> TC -> TC2M -> SOW

Nope it's a fresh Windows 7 install.
I saw from another post that you know to start with a CLEAN install. Other than that, a new download from Matrix with a fresh install should do it. If that doesn't work, like others said in previous posts, its gotta be an antivirus app interfering with the install, or a Directx 9 issue.
