Battle of La Souffel mod - WIP
Re: Battle of La Souffel mod - WIP
Hi guys!
Here a couple of screenshots of the map. Still lot of work to do.
This is a view of Lampertheim town. The bridges are blown. The fight in the vineyards will be very hard!
French troops moving to Soffelweiersheim, another key point of the battle:

Project is back on track. I got married so had to shelve things for a while.
Here are some screen shots of new Wurttemberg sprites attacking the French in one of the scenarios.

Congrats on the marriage thing Andrew, hope it works out. After being a confirmed bachelor for 37 years I finally committed also. Now after some 30 odd years later I have few regrets, having a trusting and caring partner definitely makes this life thing better.
Excellent sprites, they appear to be your best set yet. Really like the Flags too.

Looks pretty good. A little bare bones maybe. Do the Austrians have anything besides infantry to throw at the player? With 3 batteries of artillery this is a landslide French victory every time. Send out some skirmishers to delay the Austrian advance while I set up the fortress and then sit back and watch the turkey shoot.

Thanks Rob, in the scenario the austrians have also cavalry. The scenario is balanced in order to replicate the best the real battle. The french hold the wuttemberg troops just south of Souffelheim until the danger on the left flank, but..... (no spoiler
)
Le Souffel is a battle bad known; only Rapp memories are translated in english, but the description of battle is very bad, also Nafziger oob is wrong. I used for for reconstruct the battle for the german side the usual Plotho and a book on wuttemberg troops on 1814-15 campaign, for the french side the memories of general Fririon and a strasbourg yearly journal of 1815. Of course the german and french side description
of events are different, but you can understand the real flow of actions.
Is considered the last napolenic victory (there's a boardgame on the battle with this name too). In reality at the best can be considered a tactical victory for the french, because they were forced inside Strasbourg fortification.

Awesome Mitra. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this. Is this due to be released soon? I've been away from Scourge of War for far to long.
