New Found Music
Re:New Found Music
My family was. My Dad played Jazz, (Retired Music Jazz teacher), at the Starlight in Carrolltown, PA. Mom is from Portage, cousins in Ebensburg. Haven't been back since my Grandmother passed. Lots of fond memories though.

My uncle Steve Nyeste taught at Portage High School.

Sounds cool. I have never been down there, but hope to take in the sounds some day. I had "All of Me" as the ring tone on my cell phone at one point; the (take two) version from Bill Evans Trio Sunday at the Village Vanguard. I love the opening chords. Unfortunately, it was a little too mellow to hear people calling if I was in a loud environment, so I switched my ring tone to "Wild Flower" by Wayne Shorter and have stuck with that for a few years.I can remember listening to a piano/bass/drums trio at my hotel in New Orleans (N'awlins) when I visited a several years ago. They were taking requests and I requested "All Of Me" since it's one of my favorite Jazz standards. Good times..

Alternative Rock for me.

Nothing Better For The Head Than the:

Another fantastic band that featured Jerry Gracia and legendary keyboardist Merl Saunders:

So far, I've downloaded pretty much every Grateful Dead concert/studio rehearsal/demo's from 1965-1977 that are available (this would be about 1000+ hours so far). Unfortunately, I need to wait until I get an External Hard-Drive to download 1978-1995......as well as all the Legion of Mary shows from 1974-75. B)
Then it's off to download the Miles Davis concerts available from the 1940's through the 90's along with everything I can find of Jaco Pastorius with Weather Report.
THEN, I'll start tackling all of the YES concert's available.......from there; who know's.
Some really farout Bluegrass recordings are to be had!! :cheer:

Ok, I'll play. Embarassed to admit it, but started putting Neil Diamond on my ipod. And Bill Withers, Use Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3hBYTkI-sE I've listened to that song over and over again, eyes scrunched shut, head bobbing, thumping my thumbs on the chair arms. (no, there's no pic of me doing that)
Who is John Galt?

Re:New Found Music
I was reading through this and it seems like allot of people like rock and I was a little worried about saying what kind of music I was fond of until my motto came back to me "Who gives a damn!" The music that I became really fond of over the years is classical especially works done by J.S. Bach.
