JC, invest in a new VC my man!!! You can get an NVidia 8600GT for $50 on Newegg, then again you might be AGP instead of PCI, if that is the case I dont' know how much they are. If my wife gets me a new VC for my b-day I will send you mine(NVidia 7900GS), if you run PCI.

Sounds like a deal my friend!:woohoo: I think mines PCI......guy at the store I bought my pc from kept saying something about that when I was asking him about an upgrade on my VC.

You don't even have AGP, your a couple of technologies behind.

ISA->PCI->AGP->PCI-Express

You need to catch up :)

I was on AGP until last year when I did my last upgrade for Bioshock.

You're probably correct Norb. I'm not really on the tech side of things......but I try and pick up on things you and the other more tach advanced members of the community talk about.;)
Is there a way I can find out about what my system has and has not as far as ISA>PCI>AGP>PCI-Express? And if possible, are these things I can add and/or upgrade to my current system?

The type of graphics card you can get is tied to your motherboard. So the only way to get something different is to get a new motherboard and for you that probably means an entire new computer. You can always search on NewEgg or something like that and find a fast/good card for whatever bus you have. But if you don't have the latest, the options are limited. I could not tell you how to tell what you have, because I know it by site and I'm not good at explaining it. Your best best is to look at any docs that cam with your box and find it there. Or go back to where you got it. It should be listed somewhere, it's usually one of those things that people need to know.

Looking good gentleman, seems to be moving right along.

a few quick thoughts (not criticisms)

The flags need work, and hopefully you can add historical state flags for the union!

Interaction with the environment, the main improvement in your pics to me seems to be the sprites interaction with the environment. To me, it takes me out of that experience when I see a unit move through a stone wall, or fail to interact with a rail fence, instead of just slowing down, for a rail fence, is it possible to have the until move over it.

And the as the combat progresses it would be really accurate to see unit formation/coordination break down. By the end of intense combat most units were in a semi circle with the colors at the center and the men with lesser courage inching backwards behind them, would be awesome to see the physical result of combat effect a unit, rather than those perfect geometric lines of TC2.

I understand though there are limits I guess.

keep up the good work, and if you need me for any historical question, especially about the Irish Brigade and the Army of the Potomac pre overland campaign just drop me a PM.

Looks good!

PS More SMOKE, need lots more smoke from battle lines. More smoke should hide the terrain farther back so it should lesson the computers strain or something huh? hhahahaha !!! (I have no idea what I am talking about with computers.

Mark,

All great ideas, honestly our hands are tied by the limitations of the computers. The reason men don't animate over fences is because that would require a lot of frames of animation which would be a load on video ram. It's something that we consider for the future as we move to models.

We are trying to increase the smoke, as we all realize that the previous titles left a lot to be desired in that area.

Are there going to be regimental/state flags included like in the last game?

All flags will be historically accurate for the battle and the units they represent.
