Multiplayer/ mini map question

Post by Ephrum »

In regards to the mini map, are there reference points written on the maps, like in TC2M's Stock Maps?

Sudley Church, Stone House, Henry House, Mattews Hill, Chinn Farm, Sudley rd., Warrington Turnpike...etc. So when in a multiplayer game, a given Commander can use these points of reference to direct their Division Commanders movements.

example: "Move your Div to Plum Run, then advance north".....or something like that

I think that Jim is ahead of you on this one. I just know this because I've been working on something like this in the courier messaging.

The minimap is an actual historical map and has a number of names/places that can be used as navigation points if needed.

I noticed on the screenshots with the map and map legend that the corp commander and brigade commander rank insignias seem to be reversed.
You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

This has been brought up before, but the Jump Map should not have any friendly, and especially no enemy troops displayed.

This would give the courier system a lot more weight, pertaining to where are you, and have you taken that objective .

There have been quite a few Civil War Battles , when Commanders have been alerted about the sudden movement of troops in the distance, not knowing the true identity of said troops.

Imagine playing a Multi-Player Game , and being on the extreme left or right of the battle line, suddenly you spot a flanking movement in the distance, but your orders are to hold this particular spot.

You would have to send a courier to the commanding officer explaining the movement that he cannot see, which takes up valuable time, this creates a classical civil war moment.

But, this is just my humble opinion !

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

Maybe an option to turn off being able to see one or both sides' units on the map.

That sounds like a great idea Davinci! Although if that is an available option, there should be an option to play with or without it (like what Amish John said).

I really like that line of thinking. Now make it "From the Saddle", and it would be pretty close to being realistic. I know playing that way wouldn't be for everybody, but I would sure try it.
