NorbSoftDev Announces Series Title
This thread discusses the content article: NorbSoftDev Announces Series Title
"Scourge of War"...nice gritty title. I can almost taste the black powder residue on my lips from tearing open those cartridges with my teeth.
“Fondly we do hope – fervently do we pray – that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue, until all the wealth piled by the bondsman’s two hundred and fifty years of toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash, shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said ‘the judgments of the Lord, are true and righteous altogether.’” - A. Lincoln, 2nd inaugural address

Excellent name choice for the title. I don't think I could think of a better one myself. Just on a little side note, so I guess the URL www.war3d.net is no longer being used. That is the url that I would always use to access this site and then over the past few days it had not been working and I thought that the website had gone offline for a while for some reason. I hope nobody else had that same problem. I finally went to google, typed in Norb Dev Soft and then found the site again. I don't know how many other people were using the same url that I was using but hopefully they'll find the site again.

Thanks for the information. Glad you like the new name.

Yet another 'of war' title? I can't say I strongly dislike the name, but get ready for massive snark everywhere this title gets mentioned, even if it's slightly better reasoned than most 'of war' titles.

Why? I guess that I've been out of the loop, because I just don't understand. The game series are all going to be about wars. So it seems like a good description with a little bite in referencing the horror that real wars become.Yet another 'of war' title? In the last few years, just off the top of my head:
Gears of War
Fuel of War
God of War
Order of War
Dawn of War
Men of War
Theater of War
All I'm saying is expect it be referred to as an unoriginal title, even if it's from a good and relevant source. It comes across as a bit generic in context with its contemporaries.

Well as far as war titles go, I think it's a great one. There will always be people out there that will get snarky.. It's catchy, edgy, and titles aren't really that important anyway.. It's the quality of the game that really counts.

A game has to have a title, but after that first opening screen it's one of the last things I think about. The word "Gettysburg" will draw alot more attention than the words "Scourge of War", at least initially until the game/series becomes well known. I doubt anyone will not buy the game because of the title and as I mentioned, I'm on record as liking it. Has anyone reading this not bought a game because of it's title?Well as far as war titles go, I think it's a great one. There will always be people out there that will get snarky.. I get it. You have a point. Of course if we could sell as many copies as any of those other titles, then it would be awesome!! We really didn't consider your approach when we were coming up with a title, but I don't think it would have swayed us had we considered it. We were looking for something that we all liked. Something that we could use again and wouldn't date us to the time period. In the last few years, just off the top of my head:

I like the title!! I would have liked "The Last Full Measure" better. But I like this title and I think it will work just fine.
