That is why it's best that the host uses low MP graphic settings if someone has a slow computer. It's a good practice for the host to ask everyone about their computer speed in the lobby. If there is a weak link, he will need to make sure and use low MP graphic settings, and those settings will be used for everyone. After adding port 31791 and then updating the ini file with mapport=0 everything now works like a charm! I can play as host or guest. Thx!
One thing i didn't know and don't really like is that in a MP game everyone's graphic settings default to the host's settings. So if one player has an older computer it penalizes everyone else. Either with slow laggy play (if host has settings on high or best) or everyone is penalized because they have to reduce their graphics to the lower end.

UglyElmo, I have similar problems. In fact, I have this problem hosting ANY game (Combat Mission, etc.). I have gotten port forwarding to work successfully on other networks but something about my current setup makes it a no-go. I have tried it with software firewalls disabled and still doesn't work.
One way to test is to host direct connection, non-lobby game and, while it is waiting for connections go to http://canyouseeme.org/ and type in the port number.
Oddly, canyousee me CAN see me and says the port(s) are open when running the game, but no games can actually connect. Again, this applies to all games, so I suspect it is something on my end.

Re:Port Forwarding problem
When I get home I will try the MapPort=0 and let everyone know.
Also, I turned off ZoneAlarm and AVG, and tried to play, after opening the port. No luck hosting.

Re:Port Forwarding problem
Where exactly is this ini file. Is it the configuration file located in the C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work directory?

Re:Port Forwarding problem
Correct.
Re:Port Forwarding problem
Just updated the config file and started up MP. Nobody in lobby, so I just created a room and launched the game. This time the Port error did not show up in my chat box, so it looks to be working properly now.
I will let you know once someone shows up and we can test it.
Thanks for the help.

Re:Port Forwarding problem
That's why it was mentioned that you have to add it to the [Initialization] section of the INI file.
