Issuing Commands via Voice Input... Working on it... [Download Link and Video]

As far as I know there's no way to change formation with a hotkey. If you find a way, do tell.

I have no idea, wish I did. Perhaps NSD can give a hint, it would be sad if you can't, but then again what do I know.As far as I know there's no way to change formation with a hotkey. If you find a way, do tell.

Most commands work on the keyboard but some don't. Wish I had a full list of what did/didn't work, but you can always try it out and see what happens. You can check the drills.csv to see all of the available formation commands. Example, the command for a brigade to change to line formation would be: Aform:DRIL_Lvl5_Inf_Line

Thank you Little Powell, I'll look into it.Most commands work on the keyboard but some don't. Wish I had a full list of what did/didn't work, but you can always try it out and see what happens. You can check the drills.csv to see all of the available formation commands. Example, the command for a brigade to change to line formation would be: Aform:DRIL_Lvl5_Inf_Line
Also just to add, one of the better reasons for using the Voice Command is this...
In the Command Interface, you can string commands together. We all know what it is like when your just busy trying to get the proper orders together while under fire, and etc, and making sure that the orders are being executed but you forgot to TC the regiment, and so you have to TC them, then reissue, and then maybe unTC them again (if that is what you wish to do).
Now I can overcome any of these problems by simply giving a voice command, and the command for instance would look like this in the profile. Select the unit, click on the map you wish to to move, then I would then say something along the lines of "emergency fallback", and the profile would then execute these orders.
1> TC Unit On (keypress)
2> Column (keypress)
3> Run (keypress)
4> TC Unit Off
Once I give the command, all of the proper keys would be used. Now if I wanted to keep the regiment under my control, just take the TC Off out of the key sequence this way I know they will keep filling out the order without having too worry that the AI would still be running that particular regiment.
So in the end, any order I give to a regiment, I simply would have the program TC them, issue the order, then allow the Unit to be UnTc'd after the order.
Just something I am thinking about...
Thanks again Little Powell.

Hi.
I tried using the "Aform:DRIL_Lvl5_Inf_Line" in the keyboard.csv, and all I get is a crash. it's obvious I am doing something wrong. I'll be taking a look into other toolbars, and see what they have listed. It would be nice to be able to use the majority of the keys for Voice Command. There are many things you can do with this because you can string so many commands together.
Would someone at NSD have the list of keys that can be used Little Powell?
Thanks Little Powell.

I am starting to understand this (takes allot of testing, and staring at the same spot all day long until it sinks in), But I think I may have it afterall.
Thanks for the GUI.csv suggestion.
I am now adding keys that are not listed in the keyboard.csv for voice.
BIG QUESTION: Can I assign a name to a not named command?
Okay here is what I mean...
[GUI.csv]
GUI_LVL6_Inf_Combat,GFX_BS_Buttons,790,711,,SFX_UI_LieDown,,6,0,6,2,6,0,6,1,0,0,0,0,takecover,,IDS_Lie_Down,,,#regstate == 8
Okay the assigned name to this is takecover (in bold) so I entered this into the keyboard.csv as
Take Cover,X,takecover,,,,,
Here is the line for Column:
GUI_LVL6_Inf_Combat,GFX_BS_Buttons,967,655,,,,3,3,3,5,3,3,3,4,0,0,0,0,form:DRIL_Lvl6_Inf_Column,,IDS_Column,,,#formnum == 5
Can I assign a name to this?
Example:
GUI_LVL6_Inf_Combat,GFX_BS_Buttons,967,655,,,,3,3,3,5,3,3,3,4,0,0,0,0,column,,form:DRIL_Lvl6_Inf_Column,,IDS_Column,,,#formnum == 5
Then enter in the keyboard.csv
Form Column,],column,,,,,
Still doing more testing, I'll see what I can come up with.

Hi.
Well, it won't work...
First off, is these even possible? and if it is possible, how should I edit that particular line so I can create a command out of it?
I followed the same format in the GUI.csv for other commands which work perfectly.
If you can give a wee bit of a hand, or just point toward an example somewhere, I'll do all the required reading, and poking about.
@Adukes Sir: Could you please point that boney finger in some sort of a direction for me? One or two words will work me.

That's the problem, a lot of this stuff isn't documented anywhere. We try to be as thorough as possible in the SDK, but most of the time we are so hard at work on the releases, there isn't time to document everything the game does. Norb usually just has to go in and look in the code. ADukes is the CSV file master and he may be able to shed some light, but again, most of it will be about trial and error.

Formations won't work in the keyboard file.

MS:
Use the tilde key in-game "~" and type. I believe formations work when you have selected a regiment and type: form:FORMATION and then hit enter.
Your voice system would work much better if it tapped into the tilde key system, since most anything can be done using it (including changing the in-game weather...even in multiplayer).
NOTE: I am not saying anyone should mess around with a multiplayer game, but it should be known to the team that it is potentially possible to mess up a game that way. (I ran some test with some GCM guys a while back).
