At this point I would just like information on how to make my game run again, even if it is the previous version, which updated without a problem when it came out months ago.

Do I have to uninstall the entire Waterloo program and reinstall the game from scratch?

Did you run the direct x setup. If not you need to do this. You will see a Microsoft setup menu and if run it will tell you that it is installing.

We did update the version of directX we were linking with, but it was just the latest dx9, nothing even close to recent. But we all did fresh installs on win10 and win7 without these issues. The only thing that I can think of is where Mitra is directing everyone. That there is a version of directx that you need that you do not have installed. We must have had it installed for other games during our testing. Usually you can get these through MS. But the links Mitra is posting are just to the proper version of dx.

"Please type the location where you want to place the extracted files."

No default directory is listed.
Make a new folder on your desktop.

Extract your files into your new folder.

Open your new folder & run the setup file to install direct x.

Delete your new folder now direct x is installed. :)

Hey Roy64.

That did the trick!

Much thanks for the advice.

FYI. When I downloaded the directx into the new folder I created on my desktop there were 157 files inside.

I just needed to find and click on the right one.

Just one follow-up question.

Is there a screen in the game that shows which version of the program you are using?
