Well if I recall correctly its not that bayonets aren't made anymore, its that the combat knife now serves the dual role of knife and bayonet and that it can be fixed to the gun barrel. I'm pretty sure this is how it worked during Vietnam.

ah, the minor differences in browser versions, gotta love 'em.
Yes that's it but I use IE8 and I have to scroll to the next room to read all the text or see the picture. Don't people know how to shrink pic sizes before they post them? It's very annoying and ruins threads.

I also seem to recall a Bayonet charge in the Battle of the Bulge, but my WWII history is a bit shaky so if someone else knows anything about it....

Kellysheroes:

Do you see the little Compatibility View button (looks like a piece of paper riped in half next to your command input)?

Click on that, and it reverts to a different style.

I use IE8, and it works for me!

Thanks that worked as well for me. Now I don't have to be annoyed by morons who don't know how to post a pic in a thread. ;)

the brits did a bayonet charge in Iraq half a decade ago I believe....

however, the merde things are useless anyway... combat knife is the only thing I need. I leave my bayonet at the dormitory when im on terrain... hard to polish those bloody things when you have to get the poo poo ready for inspection.

Why don't you shorten your page width so we can read the damn thing without having to scroll clear across the world.

Kellysheroes: It is not what one says most often, but HOW one says it that creates problems. Considering the problem may have been with your browser or settings, your accusations were possibly without merit. All you needed to do was ask if others were having the same problem, or if Joshua was aware of the problem.

As others have stated, this is a friendly board, and one which has not needed moderators to constantly moderate. So please consider the tone of your posts before posting.

PS: Oh and I believe Bismarck is correct. The combat knife is also the bayonet. It is used because it serves a dual purpose, and eliminates a bit of weight, considering all the electronics and such the modern soldier now carries into battle. I could be wrong, but it would make sense . . . though this is the U.S. military of which we speak (and I used to work for the Dept. Of Defense) so making sense has never been a priority with the military, so I most definitely COULD be wrong.

I'm afraid UE, that you must be apart of the DoD. That last post made no sense whatsoever!
