Released Mod Threads

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Hi, these are all mods correct- and will install in the mod folder correct? I have not tried most of these because they look new- the all black troops mod is that historic?

Hi LP,

I was wondering if it would it be possible to get my Road to Wagram napoleonic conversion on the list of mods? I know it doesnt stick with the game theme so no worries if not :).

All mods go in the mods folder, yes. You can install every single one into your game but many are incompatible with each other and cannot be ACTIVATED at the same time. To activate a mod, go into the MODIFICATIONS screen from the game entry screen and then click the mod name on the left hand panel until a yellow box highlights to its left. That indicates the mod is active.

With the name then highlighted, use the up and down arows at the left lower area of the screen to shift the activated mod up or down in the list of other activated mods (note: not inactive ones - where they are has no effect). This tells the game which mod to load last and so gives it priority.

To find out which mods you prefer just read through them all in this thread and make your own decision or ask a specific question about one if its not clear to you what it does.

The USCT (United States Colored Troops) mod was issued with the Olustee map and scenario and as far as I'm aware is historic. I personally have never got it to work, suspecting its bugged.

If you play online you will find that most groups have a set of mods they use for their gaming group and if you don't have these activated your game setup will crash you out of the online play, so for MP tread carefully on which mods you have activated.
