If this was the Total War community, the bitching would begin everytime you posted any information (or screenshots), no matter how little. I have seen people argue for a month over the meaning of one screenshot. It goes something like this:

"Oh my God! The (insert faction)'s uniforms are the wrong color!"

"Look in the right-hand corner, in the zoomed-out view. The men look like ants. How can you play when your men look like ants?!"

"They are using turn numbers instead of years! Forget about historical accuracy!"

"I won't buy this game until they fix (insert complaint here)!"

"The graphics are wonderful! They obviously spent way too much time on making the game look good, instead of the AI, which is what REALLY matters! How could they?!"

"They have dumbed-down the game for the console kiddies!"

"The animation for the spearmen is wrong. Spearmen do not attack with an over-hand grip!"

"I'm not buying this trash!"

"I'm going to sue (developer of choice)."

"All they care about is the money."

"They don't care about the community."

"&#^@%*^! THEY BANNED ME FROM THEIR FORUMS! WHY THE *&^#$*(^ WOULD THEY BAN ME FROM THEIR )$&&%#$)! FORUMS? THOSE *#&*#(! "

and so on and so forth.

. . . and then the game is released and it gets even more interesting . . .

hehe

Though I guess I am jaded having been an admin at the totalwar.com forums for years.

UglyElmo,

Good post, you hit the nail right on the head !!!!

Check out EASPORTS Community for the NHL series.

Every one of your quotes I have seen many times on that board and others !!!

I have not seen any of this over at the MMG board in over 3 1/2 years and you probably not see any of it here either !!!

We all know that Norb is actually like one of the guys !!!!

As for his modding team, what else can be said !!!

We have seen there work & they are a talented group !!!

Can't wait for this game !!

:) :)

Okay, a follow up multiplayer question.
This is in regards to Co-op. Who among us is willing to let someone command a division, in their corps? I mean we've all been used to controlling our forces ourselves. Taking Command so to speak.
Here's an example. If I were in command of Jackson's corps, 3 divisions, I would like to have two other people on my team. I would give command of Hill's div. to.....let's say....JC Edwards. And give command of Lawton's div. to Hancock the Superb, while I commanded Starks div. If Jacksons corps were the attackers, I would have to give Sarge and Hancock orders of what I wanted each of them to do. They in turn, would basicly have to follow orders, right? After that, I would have to rely on their judgement, and ability. Any plan I had, would probably change in a matter of minutes. (as they always do) But at that point, it would take even more minutes to send changes in orders, via courier.
Talk about finding out what kind of commander you really are!!!
I would really enjoy commanding a div. for anyone. I would follow orders, but inevitably there would be a situation where an order I recieved, might not be applicable. Would any of you be able to trust my judgement enough?

I know we won't know a lot of these things until we get on the field to fight. And we don't know just yet how the multiplayer will work. But these are the kinds of questions running through my mind.
And I thought it might be fun to talk about!
Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

Here is another question and I think we have talked about it before but it has been a while. Is there any thought of trophies(lack of a better word) for multiplayer? Like play X number of games and you will be promoted to "Y". Or win "x" number of battles and receive "blank".

I think Norb you said before that the regular scenerio's are going to have some sort of advancement, but is there any thought to multiplayer advancement?

Following up on the previous questions (and maybe this has already been answered)...

In multiplayer, when looking at the overhead map, will a division commander see the locations of all his brigades regardless of where they are on the battlefield or will the division commander only see units on the map that are actually in his line of sight and have to rely on his brigade commanders to keep him informed as to the location of his brigades. The later would seem more realistic.

This is a good description of exactly how I designed it to work.
